Miss Anna POLOSKY of Pittsburgh and Charles H. BROWN also of Pittsburgh were united in marriage at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., Monday evening, October 5th at 8:30 o'clock. Mr. {sic} in Pittsburgh. Mr. BROWN was a former McDonald resident, leaving here 20 years ago.

BROWN - ALIMENA
Miss Dorothy Ellen ALIMENA, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank ALIMENA of Fifth avenue extension, Coraopolis, became the bride of David BROWN, son of Mr. and Mrs.
George F. BROWN of Clinton R. D., at 5:00 o'clock on Saturday, August 24, 1946, in the Coraopolis United Presbyterian church. The Rev. J. T. VORHIS read the service
and Miss Betty THOMPSON sang "Because," accompanied by the church organist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white lace and net, made with a round neckline, long sleeves, with waist of lace and a full skirt of net. Her
finger-tip veil fell from a crown of seed parls [sic=pearls]. She carired
[sic=carried] a bouquet of white roses. The bride followed the tradition of something old, new, borrowed, and blue and a
penny in her shoe for luck. Miss Barbara KUPINSKI, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, dressed in a gown of pink sharkskin and net and carried pink roses. The
bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Mary ALIMENA, dressed in a gown of blue satin and net and carried yellow roses, and her cousin, Miss Elizabeth DOMINECK dressed
in a gown of yellow sharkskin and net and carrying pink roses. John HOFFMAN was bestman and Frank ALIMENA, Jr., brother of the bride, and Richard BROWN, brother
of the bridegroom, were the ushers. The bride's mother was attired in a red and white
jersey dress, while the bridegroom's mother wore a dress of green crepe.
A reception followed the ceremony in the bride's home. The couple spent a short honeymoon in Washington, D.C., and are now residing in
Glenwillard.
Mr. BROWN served two and a half years in the navy in both the E.T.O. and Pacific theaters, receiving his discharge in February 1946, and was a student in the Findlay
township high school prior to his enlistment. Mrs. BROWN is a graduate of Moon township high school.

BROWN - LIDSTER
Before a background of ferns and gladioli in the First Presbyterian church, McDonald, Miss. WILMA JEAN
LIDSTER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAM LIDSTER of Fannie street, McDonald, became the bride of
ELMER BROWN, son of Mr. and Mrs. ARTHUR BROWN of Midway, at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening,
August 11, 1943. Dr. OSCAR E. GARDNER, the pastor, performed the ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of white net with a finger-tip tulle veil
trimmed with chantilly lace draped from a coronet of mother-of-pearl. Her shower
bouquet was of white
roses and stephanotis. The bridesmaids were Miss ELEANOR DAVIDSON, who wore a blue net gown and
shoulder veil and Miss JEAN MC ELHANY, a cousin of the bride who wore a pink net gown and a shoulder
veil. They carried shower bouquets of pink roses and blue delphinium. JOSEPH HULL of Crafton served as
bestman and the ushers were JOHN BISH and ROBERT REED (cousin of the bride), both of Midway, and
JOHN McVICKER of McDonald.
Miss HAZEL SPEER, church organist, accompanied PAUL NIMAL of Ingram as he sang "Because", "The
Sweetest Story Ever Told" and "O Promise Me". Miss SPEER played the Mendelssohn wedding march
upon the entrance of the bride and "Intermezzo" was played during the entire ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served in the church diningroom. Seventy guests were
seated at the tables. Gladioli and a large wedding cake formed the centerpiece.
The bride is a graduate of McDonald high school and Grace Martin Secretarial school. Her husband is a
graduate of Midway high school and attended Pennsylvania State college.
After an Eastern wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. BROWN will reside at 20 Emerson street, Crafton.

Miss Avanell FEICK, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph FEICK of Ambridge [Pa], formerly of Noblestown
[Pa], and Mr. Elzie BROWN, also of Ambridge [Pa], were united in marriage at two o?clock Saturday afternoon, May 28, 1938, in the Noblestown M. E. church, the pastor, the Rev. James J. BUELL of McDonald
[Pa] officiating. The bride was attired in a gray traveling suit with matching accessories. The bride?s family were the only attendants. The young couple left immediately after the ceremony for a trip to
Cleveland [Oh]. They will reside in Ambridge. Mrs. BROWN is a graduate of Ambridge high school and the Indiana State Teachers college and teaches in the Ambridge grade
school [all in Pa].

Midway
[ BROWN - BASSETT ]
Miss Carrie BASSETT, who has been making her home at George RITCHIES
for some time, and James BROWN of this place, went to Steubenville, O.,
and were quietly married on January 25th. They returned to
RITCHIES that evening where an elaborate dinner was prepared for
them. They left on Friday evening for their new home at Beaver
Falls, where the groom is employed as a glass blower. Their many
friends wish them much happiness and success.
