BOWMAN - MORGAN
Miss Florence J. Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Morgan of Chestnut street, Bridgeville, and Cpl. John R. Bowman, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Bowman, also of Bridgeville, were united in marriage at 7:30 o?clock Friday evening, August 20, 1943, in the livingroom of the bride?s home before an embankment of ferns supplemented by tall vases of white hydrangea and lighted by tall candelabra. The Rev. James J. Potter, pastor of the Bethany Presbyterian church, performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a street-length dress of powder blue moire and carried a nosegay of white roses and gardenias with a matching arrangement in her hair. Her only ornaments were a string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and a tiny gold bracelet set with opals and belonging to the bridegroom?s mother. She carried a handkerchief used by Corporal Bowman?s aunt, Mrs. William T. Gibson, on her wedding day. Mrs. Gibson gave the rehearsal supper Thursday evening in her home in Bridgeville. Miss Mary L. Morgan, as her sister?s maid of honor and only attendant, wore red crepe with a matching red velvet bow in her hair and a corsage of gardenias.
The bride?s mother wore black and white sheer and the bridegroom?s mother wore black sheer. Both had corsages of pink roses. Mervin C. Stover, Jr., of McKees Rocks served as Corporal Bowman?s bestman and Charles H. Boyd and Edward C. Foote of
Dormont, classmates of the bridegroom at the University of Pittsburgh Law school, were ushers.
Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Amelia Davis of Fairfield, Conn., sister of the bride, sang ?O Promise Me? and ?At Dawning,? accompanied by her aunt, Mrs Bard McCandless of
Dormont, who also played the wedding music.
A reception followed the ceremony for members of the families, relatives, and friends of the couple.
The bride, a graduate of Beaver college, is employed in the office of the Universal Cyclops Steel Corp., Bridgeville. The bridegroom, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the law school of the same university, is at present serving with the armed forces in the classification division of
H.Q.C. H.Q. battery at Fort Eustis, Va.
After a short honeymoon, the bride will reside for the present with her parents and the bridegroom will return to Ft. Eustis. On September 6 he will report to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor to enter the Judge Advocate General?s Officer Candidate school.

Mr. and Mrs. George Harrison SCHAEFFER of Stony Knob, Ellsworth, Ohio announce the marriage of their daughter
Barbara [SCHAEFFER], to Merle L. BOWSER, Jr., of McDonald. The marriage was performed July 6, 1942, by the Rev. Samuel
SHANE at his home in Washington, Pa. Mr. BOWSER is the son of Dr. and Mrs. M. L.
BOWSER and is now an instructor in the department of physics at Gettysburg college. The bride is a former student at Gettysburg college.

The wedding of Miss Raid Elizabeth HUMPHRIES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard F. HUMPHRIES, of Crafton, and Earl Henry BOXBERGER, of Bellevue, was
solemnized Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Rittenhouse, with Rev. William A.
McROBERTS, pastor of the West End Presbyterian church officiating. The
bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Kenneth P. HUMPHRIES, wore a gown of white satin embroidered with pearls. The skirt of her gown was made
bouffant and veiled in lace. Her tulle veil was arranged in halo effect with orange blossoms, and she carried a shower of white roses and lilies of the valley Miss
Edna CASTERLINE, as maid of honor, wore pale green georgette, with a picture hat, and her flowers were butterfly roses. Jean and Phyllis KEISTER, as flower
girls, scattered rose petals from small baskets. Paul LOEHR was best man, and the wedding music was played by Miss Hazel I. DRAKE. A reception followed
the ceremony, and later, Mr. and Mrs. BOXBERGER left of a New England motor trip. They will be at home after October 1 in Fremont avenue, Bellevue.
Mrs. BOXBERGER is well known here, having lived here for a number of years and graduating from the McDonald High school. Those from McDonald who attended
the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. R. Murray McCARTNEY and Miss Margaret YOUNG.
