SERETWAY - BATIC
[ BATIC is the Groom. ]
Miss Violet SERETWAY, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth SERETWAY of Gladden and
Mr. Frank BATIC, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence BATIC of Moon Run, were united
in marriage at nine o'clock Saturday morning, October 29, 1939, in St. Mary's church, Cecil,
by the Rev. Fr. KOPERA. The bride wore a gown of egg-shell brocaded satin with a veil,
and carried white roses and baby chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids were Miss Eva SCHEMELLA
of Moon Run, who wore a gown of pink taffeta with a headdress of French blue tulle with blue
flowers at the top. Miss Mary MITCHELL of Carnegie, who wore a blue satin gown with a headdress of baby blue tulle and flowers of the same shade at the top, and Miss Eleanor ST. CLAIR
of Muse, who wore a rose satin gown with a headdress of French blue tulle with matching flowers at the
top. They all carried bronze mums. Mr. Albert SERETWAY of Gladden served as bestman and
Mr. Daniel DeANGELIS of Gladden and Mr. Rudolph KNESS of Moon Run were the ushers. Miss Mary QUINN
of Cecil played the wedding music.
A reception followed in the home of the bride. There were 25 guests with eight seated at the
bride's table. The young couple took a trip to Bedford and will reside in Gladden.
Mr. BATIC is employed by the Gulf Refining Co., Neville Island.

BATIC - SMITH
Miss Helen SMITH, daughter of Mrs. A.J. McGINNIS of Terrace street, and Tony BATIC, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence BATIC of Moon Run, were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 28, 1947, in the manse of the Montour Presbyterian church. The Rev. Howard W. EDGAR performed the double ring ceremony. The bride was attired in a pastel pink gabardine suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of white roses. Following the wedding they spent a brief honeymoon in Erie.
The bride, a 1940 graduate of McDonald high school, is employed by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. The bridegroom attended the Robinson township school and is employed at Betlyn's Dairy.

Miss Ruth L. CHARLIER of Midway and Walter A. BAUER of Pittsburgh were united in marriage at 8:00 pm. Friday, June 28, 1946, in Avalon by the Rev. Peter BOYKO, pastor of the Sandusky steet Baptist church.
The bride was attired in a white suit with poudre blue accessories and a corsage of American Beauty rosebuds.
Mrs. BAUER, a graduate of Midway high school, has been employed by the Peoples Pittsburgh Trust Co. Mr. BAUER served nearly four years with the Armed Forces and is employed by the Falk Co., Pittsburgh. The young couple will reside in the Northside, Pittsburgh.

The wedding of Miss Mary COLLINS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John COLLINS, Sr., of Sturgeon and James BAUMAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. John BAUMAN of Carnegie, was solemnized on Wednesday morning, September 11, at 9 o'clock in St. Patrick's church at Noblestown by the Rev. Father COX. The bride wore a blue satin ensemble with hat to match and carried an arm bouquet of pink tea roses. Miss Elizabeth COLLINS, a sister of the bride, was her only attendant, and she wore a brown crepe ensemble and carried white roses. Mr. James McGROGAN of Carnegie acted as bestman. A wedding breakfast in the home of the bride's parents supplemented the ceremony. Covers were laid for eleven at the bride's table which had as a center piece a large wedding cake. Among those from a distance who attended the wedding breakfast were the Rev. Father COX who was honor guest, Mrs. Anna KELLY and Mrs. James FLOOD of Noblestown, Mr. Hugh McCAFFREY, grandfather of the bride, Misses Anna and Winifred McCAFFREY of Crafton, Mr. and Mrs. John BAUMAN, Mrs. McGROGAN, Mrs. McCORMICK, Miss Rose Marie BRITTNER, Mrs. CROSSBY, Miss Irene BURHART, Patrick and Michael WELSH, all of Carnegie, Mr. and Mrs. John DONNLEY, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil RAINEY of Weirton, Miss Mary FEREDAY of Woodville, Miss Velma STEWART of Burgettstown, Mr. and Mrs. John COLLINS, Jr. of Midway and James COLLINS of Greenville. The bride and groom have returned from a trip to Atlantic City and are at home on Main street, Carnegie.

BAWOLAK - DAUDET
Miss Gladys Marie DAUDET, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Patterson YOHO of Center avenue, McDonald, and Stephen A. BAWOLAK, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen BAWOLAK, Sr., of Primrose, were united in marriage Saturday morning, July 25, 1942, at 10:00 o' clock in St. John's Russian Orthodox church, Canonsburg. The Rev. Basil G. HORSKY officiated.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of floral marquisette, fashioned in princess style with a long train. Her long veil was of tulle edged with lace and a small coronet of seed pearls. As her "something blue" she wore a bracelet of blue and white sapphires, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried white roses and lilies of the valley.
Mrs. George FRANKLIN of McDonald, as matron of honor, wore a gown of blue floral marquisette and a tiara headdress of peach flowers and peach veiling. Miss Rosella HAGERMAN of McDonald and Miss Betty Jane SMEDDLEY of Cowden were bridesmaids. Miss HAGERMAN wore a dress of petal pink marquisette and lace with a headdress of yellow flowers and veiling. Miss SMEDDLEY wore yellow marquisette and lace and a headdress of petal pink flowers and veiling. A headdress of baby blue ribbon was created for Miss Jean DENNY, who was chosen by her cousin to be junion bridesmaid. She wore a dress of peach marquisette with small bows of baby blue ribbon. American beauty roses were carried by all the attendants. Ralph DAUDET of McDonald, brother of the bride, served as bestman and the ushers were John YOUROSKY of Primrose, a cousin of the bridegroom, and Robert Verle YOHO of McDonald, a brother of the bride.
The bride's mother, the bridegroom's mother, and the bride's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mark DENNY, Sr., all wore blue printed chiffon with corsages of red roses.
Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served in the YOHO home to thirty guests, ten seated at the bride's table. A large tiered wedding cake formed the centerpiece at the table, where all white decorations were used.
In the evening a reception was held in the Eagles hall, Sturgeon , for about two hundred guests.
Among the out-of-town guests who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph PHILLIPS and daughter Jo Ann of Brownsville, Mr. and Mrs. James TUCKER and daughters Rose Marie and Ethel and Mr. and Mrs. SCHMICK of Cleveland, and Mrs. Tiny WILLIAMSON, Harry KURTZ, Mr. and Mrs. Charles WILLIAMSON, Miss HOLLAND, and Mr. and Mrs. KERR, all of Carnegie. East Pittsburgh, by the Rev. Father Clougherty.
Following the ceremony, a reception for twenty-five guests was held at the home
of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Frank GEORGE. A three-tiered wedding cake formed
the centerpiece of the bride's table.
