GILMOUR - AUSTIN
[ AUSTIN is Groom. ]
A pretty wedding took place in St. Alphonsus' church, McDonald, at
seven-thirty o'clock Tuesday morning, September 14, 1926, when Miss Mary Louise
GILMOUR, daughter of John GILMOUR of West Lincoln avenue, became the bride of William J. AUSTIN, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. AUSTIN of Barr street. The Rev. Fr. J. A.
BURGOON performed the ceremony which took place before a nuptial high mass. The bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of turquoise blue Elizabeth crepe with hat to match
and carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses. Mrs. Fred SNAPP of Detroit, Mich.,
was her sister's bridesmaid, and she wore a gown of beige colored georgette
with hat to match and carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses. Frank
GROGAN of New York City was best man. A wedding breakfast and reception at the home of
the bride's aunt, Miss Gertrude B. MOLONEY [sic], followed the ceremony.
Covers were laid fore twelve at the bride's table. A centerpeice of pink roses
with pink tapers in crystal candle holders adorned the table. Pink rose place
cards marked the place of each guest. The ice cream was pink and was molded in
the shape of roses, and the cake was decorated with pink roses. Mr. and Mrs. AUSTIN left the same day by auto for Miami, Florida, where
Mr. AUSTIN is employed. Mr. Austin is a graduate of McDonald high school,
class of 1906. Mrs. AUSTIN is a graduate of St. Mary's of the Woods Academy,
Terre Haute, Ind.

Miss Isabelle MASQUELIER, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. MASQUELIER of McDonald, and Mr. Leon AVRIL, son of Mr. Leonard AVRIL, formerly of Sturgeon, now of Sharon, Pa. were married on Monday, August 13, 1923 at Sharon, Pa. by the Rev. Ralph MARTIN. After a trip up north they will reside in Sharon, Pa. where Mr. AVRIL is in the garage business.

DESCUTNER - AVRIL.

A pretty wedding took place at eight o'clock Wednesday evening, September 3, 1924, at the F. L. DESCUTNER home on Chester pike, Norwood, near Philadelphia, when Miss Eva DESCUTNER became the bride of Mr. Leonard AVRIL of Farrell.
The bridal couple entered the living room to the strains of the bridal march from Lohengrin, played by Miss Grace SEYMOUR. The bride wore a gown of white canton crepe trimmed with Irish point lace and carried a bouquet of white asters. Miss Rena DESCUTNER was her sister's bridesmaid and wore a gown of orchid canton crepe and carried a bouquet of asters to match. Mr. AVRIL was attended by his cousin, Mr. Budd VANGIESEL of Farrell. After the ceremony a wedding supper was served, covers being laid for twelve at the bride's table. The happy couple left for a motor trip through the East and will go to live in Youngstown, Ohio, where Mr. AVRIL is employed.

AXTELL - INGLEFIELD
Miss Dorothy L. INGLEFIELD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. INGLEFIELD of Burgettstown, and Mr. Clair L.
AXTELL, son of
Fred AXTELL of Franklin, were united in marriage at 11:30 o'clock Saturday morning, July 29, 1939, in the home of the
bride's parents. The Rev. R. C. SUTTON, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church, Burgettstown, performed the
ceremony in the presence of the immediate families, before an embankment of ferns, palms, and large bouquets of garden
flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a street-length dress of white embossed chiffon, wide-brimmed
white hat, and a double corsage of vivid red roses. Miss Helen INGLEFIELD, as her sister's maid of honor, wore
a pastel green crepe dress, a large leghorn hat, and a corsage of yellow roses. Dale
AXTELL of Franklin served as his
brother's bestman.
Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served in the Mt. Vernon room of the George Washington hotel,
Washington, Pa., with covers laid for eighteen guests. Mr. and Mrs. AXTELL left for a ten-day motor trip to
the New York Worlds' fair.
Mrs. AXTELL is a 1933 graduate of Burgettstown high school and of Slippery Rock State Teachers' college. At present,
she is teaching in the Bulger schools. Mr. AXTELL, also a graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers' college, is a director of physical education and athletics at the Shanksville high school.
