ANDERSON - LEE
K. Jane LEE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. LEE, and C. Wilson ANDERSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E.
ANDERSON of Glendale, were united in marriage at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 13, 1937, in the home
of the bride's parents, the Rev. R. E. KAUFMAN,
officiating. Mr. ANDERSON received degrees from Penn State college and the University of Pittsburgh.
He is now employed by the Pennsylvania Prison society. Mrs. ANDERSON is a graduate of Penn State and has been
home economics instructor for several years at Union high school, Burgettstown. The ANDERSONS will reside
for the summer at 1607 North Broad street, Philadelphia.

ANDERSON - McHAFFIE
Miss Carolyn May McHAFFIE, daughter of Mrs. Jesse
LAUGHLIN McHAFFIE of Johns avenue, McDonald [Pa], and Mr. Charles S.
ANDERSON of Cross Creek were united in marriage at three o'clock
Thursday afternoon, October 3, 1940, in the McDonald Methodist Church,
the pastor, the Rev. James J. BUELL, performing the ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. George
McHAFFIE of Coraopolis [Pa], wore a gown of eggshell brocaded taffeta
with a matching finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white pompom
chrysanthemums. The maid of honor, Miss Miriam McCONNELL of Cecil [Pa],
wore a colonial gown of soldier blue and carried a bouquet of pink
chrysanthemums. James ANDERSON served as his brother's bestman. The
ushers were Raymond SMITH of Gladden heights and Cecil RIGG of Cross
Creek.
Miss Olga CAMPFIELD of McDonald played the wedding music
and Miss Blanche DONALDSON of McDonald sang "O Promise Me!"
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the
McHAFFIE home with about seventy close friends and relatives present.
Pink and white was used in the dessert refreshments. The young couple
left for a wedding trip and upon their return will reside with the
bride's mother.
Mrs. ANDERSON, a graduate of Cecil high school, is employed in a
McDonald store. Mr. ANDERSON a graduate of Union high school,
Burgettstown, is engaged in argriculture and dairying pursuits in Cross

ANDERSON - McCOY Wedding
We herewith print a more extended account of the wedding of H. L. R.
ANDERSON and Miss Sarah * McCOY than was available at the time of going
to press last week. Miss McCOY taught in the McDonald High School
for three years and Mr. ANDERSON was superintendent of the Cecil
township schools for two terms. Both are well known and highly
respected in this locality.
On Wednesday, January first, at twelve o'clock, the marriage of Miss
Sarah Barkley McCOY of Argyle, N.Y. to Mr. H. L. R. ANDERSON of Mercer,
Pa., was solemnized at the Hillside, New Wilmington, Pa. The
ceremony was performed by the Rev. William M. BARR, brother-in-law of
the bride, assisted by the Rev. James S. BARR, Dr. R. G. FERGUSON and
Dr. James S. BARR, the ring ceremony being used. The bride's gown
was ivory crepe meteor and she carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses
and lilies of the valley. She was given in marriage by her mother,
Mrs. Mary McCOY. Her attendant was Miss Laura POUND of Grove City,
who wore a gown of ivory chiffon over yellow charmeuse and carried cream
roses. Mr. ANDERSON was attended by his brother, Vernon ANDERSON
of Mercer, Pa. Miss Theodora BARR, a niece of the bride, was
flower girl. Miss Laura HUNTER of Beaver played the Mendelssolin
wedding march and several other selections. After the ceremony a
wedding dinner was served in the beautiful dining room of The
Hillside. The color scheme was yellow and white.
On Tuesday evening Mrs. McCOY entertained the bridal party at dinner
at Hotel McCREERY before a rehearsal at The Hillside.
Numerous friends from Pittsburgh, McDonald, Coraopolis and Mercer
were present. After a brief wedding journey Mr. and Mrs. ANDERSON
will be at home at Millbrook, Pa.
