1st MCEWEN Family Reunion
Descendants of John MCEWEN I

From McDonald PA Outlook newspaper, Sept. 9, 1920, page unknown:

The first reunion of the MCEWEN family, descendents of John MCEWEN the First, was held Saturday, Sept. 4, 1920 at the home of Mrs. Margaret Ann MCEWEN on the Washington road. Eighty descendents were present and seven branches of the family were represented.

A nice lunch was served at noon, after which a business meeting was held and the following officers elected: George F. MCEWEN, Pres., Keifer MCEWEN, V. Pres., James H. MCEWEN, sec., Oakdale, F. W. MCEWEN, treas.

A talk on the family history was given by each of the following parties, Mr. J. S. BURNS, of Coraopolis, Pa., Mr. John Allen MCEWEN, of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., Mr. James H. MCEWEN, of Kansas City, Mo., ad Mrs. A. W. MCCANCE, of Mt. Oliver, Pa. A program prepared by Mrs. Frances (MCEWEN) MCELHANEY, consisting of readings, vocal and instrumental music by the younger people, was enjoyed by all present.

Games of all kinds were enjoyed by the young folk during the afternoon, while the older ones enjoyed themselves pitching horseshoes and pondering over the family tree.

A lunch was served at 5:30, after which all departed for their homes, well pleased with the success of the first reunion and hoping to be able to attend the next one which will be held in 1921, time and place to be decided on by the executive committee.
