From the McDonald PA Record-Outlook newspaper, Feb. 9, 1984, page unknown:

Dr. William Smyers WYKE, 68, of Thornburg, formerly of Gladden Heights, McDonald, died Wednesday, February 8, 1984, in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.

A son of the late Lee WYKE and Grace SMYERS WYKE, he was born March 7, 1915, in Candor. He graduated in 1931 form McDonald High School and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry in 1937. He practiced in McDonald for several years and then was a dentist in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He then moved his practice to Sheraden, where he had been since.

Dr. WYKE was a member of eh Crafton Heights Presbyterian Church, Garfield Lodge No. 604, F. & A. M., McDonald; Syria Shrine, and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh.

He was a former president of the Sheraden Kiwanis Club and was regional director of Pony League Baseball.

Surviving are his wife, Rena RAAB WYKE; a son, Donald L. WYKE of Moon Township; two sisters, Janet CORWIN of Aliquippa and Ruth ROMESBURG of Uniontown; and two grandsons. Two brothers, Alex and John, are deceased.

Funeral services were held last Saturday morning in Sheraden. Burial was in Raccoon Presbyterian Church cemetery, Candor.
