Mr. and Mrs. Jacob ROHDE
Midway, PA Washington County Pennsylvania
60th wedding anniversary

February 21, 1952

MIDWAY COUPLE WED 60 YEARS

Mr. and Mrs. George WINDSHEIMER entertained at dinner Sunday afternoon in their home in Midway for the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob ROHDE, the occasion being their 60th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. ROHDE, the former Katherine EISENHEIMER, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George EISENHEIMER, who will be 77 years old on August 29, came to this country from Germany at the age of seven. When she was 16 she and her family moved to Midway. Mr. ROHDE, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad ROHDE, was born in Etna and came to Midway with his parents at the age of three. He will be 87 on December 10.

He and Anna EISENHEMER were married February 18, 1892, by the Rev. W. J. Graham, at that time pastor of the Center U. P. church, Midway [Pa]. Mr. ROHDE was a coal miner until nine years ago. He was then employed by the Midway Borough for several years. The couple has been lifelong members of the Midway Baptist church, of which Mr. ROHDE has been a trustee and Mrs. ROHDE a deaconess for many years. Mrs. ROHDE was also a Sunday school teacher most of her life.

Present to help celebrate the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. William DILLON of Clairton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert JACKSON of Weirton, W. Va., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas COX of McDonald, Miss Martha ROHDE, and George, Helen, and Martha Shirley WINDSCHEIMER.

The dining table was centered with a bowl of cut flowers and wedding and anniversary cakes flanked the centerpiece. The honor guests received a number of gifts, cards and a sum of money. Mrs. ROHDE had been confined to her home for several years due to a broken hip sustained in a fall.
