Mr. and Mrs. W. T. GUTHRIE
McDonald PA, Washington County, Pennsylvania
58th wedding anniversary

From The McDonald Outlook, Jan. 15, 1931, GUTHRIE Anniversary

Celebrate Fifty Eighth Wedding Anniversary
BOTH ENJOY GOOD HEALTH AND ARE ACTIVE CHURCH WORKERS; HUSBAND IS VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR.

Mr. and Mrs. W. T. GUTHRIE of Washington street were pleasantly surprised on Thursday, January 8th, their 58th wedding anniversary when a number of friends, whom they have known for more than 35 years, came to spend the day with them.

At one o'clock they were called next door to the home of their daughter, Mrs. A. L. WOOD where dinner was served. The centerpiece of the table was of pink and white carnations and the favors were pink baskets of mints, and cards on which were written the name of the honor guests and the dates January 8, 1873 and 1931. In serving the dinner Mrs. WOOD was assisted by her sister, Mrs. L. R. SIMPSON.

Present besides the honor guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Rumbaugh, Sr., of Arabella street, Mrs. Charles LASHER, (Mr. LASHER was unable to come due to illness), Mr. and Mrs. L. R. SIMPSON of Noblestown, Mrs. Thomas STEVENSON and daughter Elsie Avonelle of Burgettstown and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. WOOD.

Following the dinner, everyone returned to the Guthrie home where another surprise awaited Mr. and Mrs. GUTHRIE. While they were at dinner a radio had been set in as a gift to bring them joy and happiness. The guests departed late in the afternoon wishing them many more such happy anniversaries.

Mr. and Mrs. GUTHRIE both enjoy exceptionally good health and are active workers in the McDonald M. E. church. Mr. GUTHRIE is the only Civil war veteran living in McDonald [Pa].
