50th wedding anniversary
From the Record-Outlook, April 18, 1984:
Mr. and Mrs. George S. BISH, 15 Lincoln Avenue, Burgettstown, will celebrate
their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 28th.
The couple were married in the manse of the First United Presbyterian Church
(now Westminster) of Burgettstown by the late Reverend Richard C. SUTTON on
April 28, 1934. George is a native of McDonald, the son of the late Oliver and
Ida LEWIS BISH. Ethel is the daughter of the late Clifford R. and Ruth WADE of
Burgettstown. They are the parents of two children, Mrs. Bernard DEVAUX
(Darla) of Baltimore, Maryland; and James R. BISH of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Ther are two grandchildren, Alissa Lynn BISH and Kara Ann BISH. George has
been retired from Weirton Steel since 1972. George and Ethel are active in
church and community affairs. They are longtime membes of Westminster U. P.
Church where both have served as elders. the also serve on the Board of
Directors of the American Cancer Society. The couple will be honored with a
family dinner planned by their children and grandchildren.
