Byron E. TOMBAUGH has announced as a candidate for the office of
district attorney of Washington county. He has never before occupied nor
asked or any political office. For ten years he was one of the leading
school teachers of the County, and for 6 years was at the head of the
Washington county schools as superintendent. He studied law with M. L.
A. MCCRACKEN, Esq., and for two years was in partnership with G. P.BAKER,
Esq. For four years Mr. TOMBAUGHhas been a member of the Washington bar.
He belongs to one of the he old Republican families of the County, and
for years has been an active and aggressive party worker. He is a
careful, painstaking, through lawyer and at present has a good allround
practice. He is especially strong as a trial lawyer, and had been
eminently successful in his criminal court practice.
