Transcript of the Obituary from The Reporter newspaper, Washington Co., Pa., June 1, 1939, page 6:

DEATH ROLL - Mrs. John ROSS - Mrs. Lettia THARP ROSS, 81, widow of John Ross, died Wednesday night, May 31, 1939 at 7:15 o'clock in the home of her son, Samuel, near Marianna.

Mrs. Ross, a resident of West Bethlehem Township for more than 50 years, was a member of the North Ten Mile Baptist Church.

Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Elizabeth Thickson, of Marianna, R. D.; Mrs. Daisy Wright and Steve Ross, both of Washington; Walter Ross of Uniontown, R. D.; Mrs. Sadie Barnhart and Samuel Ross, of Scenery Hill, R. D.; R. D. and Thomas Ross, of Marianna, R. D.  Also survives are two brothers, Frank, of Waynesburg, and Barney, of Iowa, and 52 grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Two daughters are deceased.

Short services will be held Saturday at 1p.m. in the home of Samuel Ross, near Marianna, followed by services in the North Ten Mile Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

If I'm understanding the notes made on these obituaries, the same obituary appeared in the Morning Observer, Washington, PA, June 1, 1939, page 2.
