Obituary of Mrs. James KNIGHT 1914

DEATH CLAIMS GRANVILLE WOMAN

Mrs. James KNIGHT died Wednesday morning at her home in Granville at the ripe old age of 88 years, having been born just above Granville, February 2, 1826.  She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob GREGG.  When about 27 years of age she became the wife of Mordecaai CONAWAY and for a time made her home in Greene county [sic] and later in Connellsville [Pa].  Forty years ago this month she became the wife of James KNIGHT.  Since then, with the exception of five years her home has been in Granville.

When but 12 years of age she became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church in Soal [sic= Coal] Centre [now Coal Center, Pa].  This was soon after the church was organized and she has always been interested in the work of the church. Till the end came her mind was clear and she could be back and tell of things that happened years ago as though it were but yesterday.

The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock on Friday and the Interment will be in the Howe's cemetery.

In the death of Mrs. KNIGHT the Presbyterian church [sic] of Coal Centre loses its oldest member and one who has always enjoyed the confidence of all who knew her.
