Rozner - Esther Rosenburg Rozner, 88, of Washington R. D. 3, died
Sunday, March 22, 1981, at 7:40 p. m. in Washington Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1892, in Austria.
She was a member of the Beth-Israel congregation.
She was married June 8, 1914, to Benjamin Rozner, who died March
21, 1974.
She is survived by two sons, Benjamin Z. Rozner of Washington, and
Henry Rozner of Canonsburg; three daughters, Marian, wife of William
Prigg Jr. with whom she made her home, Thelma Tustin of Cortland, Ohio,
and Diane, wife of Joseph Esposto of Library; 12 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
A son, James Howard Rozner, is deceased.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the
Stewart F. Barnhill Funeral Home.

Plumley - Tolbert Thomas Plumley, 83, of Carmichaels R. D. 1, died
Saturday, March 21, 1981, in Greene County Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1896, in Hamlin, W. Va., a son of Archie
and Fanne Bush Plumley.
Mr. Plumley was a retired coal miner. He was a member of St. Hugh
Church, Carmichaels, and UMWA Local 6321.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Kubiritak Plumley; two daughters,
Mrs. Ronald (Beverly) Kerr and Mrs. Frank (Debbie) Lukas, both of
Carmichaels; two sons, Samuel Plumley, of Glennville, W. Va., and Robert
Plumley, of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dollie Plumley, of Griffithsville,
W. Va.
One son, Joseph, one brother, Golzy, and two sisters, Rose and
Ella, are deceased.

Wood - James R. Wood, 73, of Claysville R. D. 2, died Sunday,

He was born February 13, 1906, in Moundsville, W. Va., a son of Jesse
and Mabel Crimm Wood.

McCarty - Evelyn Barnes McCarty, 65, of Beallsville, died at 1
p.m. Saturday, March 21, March 21, 1981, in Washington Hospital.
She was born February 2, 1912, in Beallsville, a daughter of the
late Joseph and Helen Hill Barnes.
A long resident of Beallsville, Mrs. McCarty was post-master of
the Beallsville Post Office, retiring after 33 years of service.
She was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Beallsville, the
National Association of Postmasters, the Washington County Postmasters
Association, the National League of Postmasters, the Beallsville Alumnae
Association, the Monongahela Valley Shrine No. 9 of Donora and the
Beallsville Civic Association.
Mrs. McCarty was president of the Women's Auxiliary of American
Legion Post No. 877 of Beallsville and was a former member of Eastern
Star, California Chapter No. 211 and the Old Trails BPW.
Surviving are her husband, Willis (Bill) McCarty; one daughter,
Dwana Guntrum of Bentleyville; two sons, Lecil D. McCarty of Beallsville
and W. Greg McCarty of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Joseph A. Barnes of
Seal Beach, Calif., and Paul A. Barnes of Beallsville; a sister, Mrs.
Lorraine Powers of Beallsville; and six grandchildren and a
great-granddaughter.
One daughter, Billie Mae McCarty, died in 1946.

Friends of Evelyn Barnes McCarty of Beallsville, who died
Saturday, March 21, March 21, 1981, will be received from 7 to 9 p. m.
Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Monday in the Greenlee Funeral Home,
Beallsville, where services will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday, March 24,
with Dr. Kenneth E. Nolan officiating. Burial in Beallsville
Cemetery.

Borella - Dorothy McKee Borella, 65, of Orchard Street, McDonald
R. D. 1, died Friday, March 20, 1981, in Washington Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1915, in Slovan, a daughter of the late Peter
Thomas and Mary Smith McKee.
Mrs. Borella was a dietary helper at Woodville State Hospital and
a member of the Irons Memorial United Presbyterian Church of McDonald.
She is survived by a daughter, Delores Witovicz of Cleveland,
Ohio; six brothers, Clifford McKee of Slovan, Harry and James McKee,
both of Washington, Benjamin and William McKee, both of Coatesville, and

Hibbert - John F. Hibbert, 47, of 210 Hodgson Avenue, Houston,
died at 10:10 a. m. Sunday, March 22, 1981, in the Cleveland (Ohio)
Clinic Hospital.
He was born November 29, 1933, in Washington, a son of the late John and
Nelle Horne Hibbert. He was a lifelong resident of Houston.
Mr. Hibbert was a teacher and wrestling coach in the Wheeling area
and Bethany College, amassing a record of 106 wins and 37 losses. He
also taught in Parkersburg (W. Va.) High School.
Mr. Hibbert operated the Kawasaki Motorcycle Shop in the
Washington area.
He was a 1951 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a 1956
graduate of Waynesburg College. He also did graduate work at the
University of Pittsburgh.
Surviving are one brother, William T. Hibbert of Washington; a
foster-brother, George T. Fischer of Export; and two nephews and two
nieces.

Koupiaris - Alex M. Koupiaris, day-old infant son of Nicholas and
Mary McDonald Koupiaris of Meadow Lands, died Friday, March 20, 1981, in

Surviving in addition to his parents are his paternal
grandparents, Fotios and Mary Koupiaris; maternal grandmother, Mrs.
Shirley McDonald; and matermal great-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bowers, all
of Canonsburg.
Private services and burial were held in Oak spring Cemetery by
the Rev. G. Sherman Ott. Arrangements by Griffith and Bogan Funeral

He was born June 13, 1919, in Renick, W. Va., the son of Steele
McHilmer and Mary Butler Sherman.
He spent most of his life in the Canonsburg area. He was an

Friends of Edwin L. Sherman of 761 South Central Avenue,
Canonsburg, who died Thursday, March 19, 1981, were received from 7 to 9

He was born March 18, [1917 ?], in Bentleyville, a son of the late
Joseph [H. ?] and Victoria [K_____ ] Hrutkay.
Mr. Hrutkay was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church,
Ellsworth, the Finleyville Community Interfaith Golden Agers and the
Antique Engines and Collectors Association of Washington County.
A member of the UMW Local No. 1190 of Ellsworth, Mr. Hrutkay was
employed by Bethlehem Mines Corp Ellsworth Mine, retiring in [1970 ?].
Surviving are his wife Charlote Blackburn Hrutkay, one daughter,
Sandra Hrutkay of Pittsburgh, two sons, James Hrutkay of Eighty Four R.
D. 2 and Donald Hrutkay of Monongahela, two sisters, Helen [L_____] of
Syracuse, N. Y. and Martha [Bus___ ?] of Chicago, Ill.; [six ?]
brothers, Nandor Hrutkay of Bentleyville R. D. 1, Michael Hrutkay of
Eighty Four R. D. 2; Lloyd Hrutkay of Beallsville; William Hrutkay of
Ellsworth and Charles Hrutkay of Scenery Hil R. D. 2; and a
grand-daughter, Jennifer Hrutkay.

Conkle.
Mrs. Deakin was an Episcopalian.
On October [ 7 ? or 2 ?], 1946, she married Thomas Deakin, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. John Jurkovich of Washington, one daughter, Charlotte

She died in March of 1981.

Friends of Kazimier (Art) Kapis of 54 Oakwood Avenue, Washington,
who died Sunday, March 22, 1981, will be received in the Neal-Cowieson
Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, from 7 to 9 p. m.
Monday and until 9:30 a. m. Wednesday, March 25, when the remains will
be taken to the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, where a
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a. m. by the Rev. Felix N.
Pyzowski, pastor of the church. Interment in the church cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy
Trinity Polish National Catholic Church building fund. Prayer services
will be held in the funeral home at 8 p. m. Tuesday.
