John Sybert Larmon Civil War, circa 1861. Notes: John Sybert Larmon enlisted in the Civil War as a drummer boy when he was 16. He mustered into service Sept. 20, 1861 as a member of Co. 1--55th Regiment, Penn. Infantry, Fourth Brigade, First Division, 24th Corps. Appointed Musician of Company 1. He re-enlisted at Beaufort SC Jan. 1, 1864 and mustered out Aug. 30, 1865 after nearly four years of service. He was in fifteen general engagements and escaped uninjured (Discharge certificate 997460). He was born in Somerset, Somerset County and enlisted from Harrisburg. 16k Jun 2000 Kathy Hall
