St. Thomas Church Cemetery

Location:

1 1/2 miles west of Meiserville, Perry Township

History:

"This church is located about two miles from Meiserville. ... The building was erected in 1891 on land donated by Eli Portzline (1851-1928), a public school teacher of the county for thirty years. He is buried in the cemetery a short distance across the road from the church. Prior to the building of the church, worship services were conducted in the homes of the people and in the schoolhouse." After the congregation merged with Daniel's United Methodist church, the building was purchased by Mennonites and renamed County Line Mennonite Church. Dunkelberger, p. 637.
