St. Paul's (Erdley's) Union Church Cemetery

Location:

Middlecreek Township

History:

"This church is...situated in Middlecreek Township, on the road from Kreamer to New Berlin, near the boundary line between Middlecreek and Jackson Townships. The Lutheran Congregation was organized by the Reverend C.G. Erlenmeyer in 1857. The church building was erected in 1857, and was dedicated in 1858. Mrs. Eve Erdley, the widow of Henry Erdley gave an acre of land free for a church and a graveyard. ...The cemetery adjoins the church building. Through the action of the county court, a corporate body known as the Erdley's Church Cemetery Association was formed in 1929 for the permanent upkeep of the cemetery." Dunkleberger, p. 630.
