Templeton Private Cemetery
Location:
South of Rt. 304, Jackson Twp., Snyder Co.
History:
"This cemetery is … between New Berlin and Dry Valley
… across from the Dairy Farm [sic, now Moyers' egg farm] on the
main road. In 1915 there were about 36 headstones, all of native
limestone … There were possibly buried here St. Clairs,
Hunters, VanValzahs, and Templetons." Many years ago a farm
road was run through the cemetery and the tombstones were leaned against
a tree. These few legible stones are still there, although the road
itself is now abandoned. - Lontz, Union Co., Pa., 1865-1965, 1966, p.
