Route 104, Centerville, Centre Township

History:

"The Union Lutheran and Reformed Church at Penns Creek (Centreville) in Centre Township was erected probably about the year 1804, although there is some evidence for accepting the year 1810....It is supposed that the land on which this building was erected, and the ground for the adjoining cemetery back of the church, were given by Lieutenant Colonel George Weirick. About 1885-1890 a frame building was erected in its place..."[the present United Church of Christ.] Dunkleberger, p.616.
