Jesse R. Williams aged 85 years died Monday at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie where he had lived for two years. Death was caused by acute heart disease and came after a very brief illness. He was born in Venango County and for many years was a resident of Mercer. Here he was first employed at the gun-smith trade and engaged in the drug store business with his brother-in-law, the late
George Reznor. He was twice married, his first wife being the daughter of the late
John McKinney, and is survived by two sons John M.,
of Seattle Washington, and Frank of Franklin and one daughter,
Mrs. A.H. Holmes now living in Los Angeles, California. He was a man of good character, geneal disposition and kindly traits and the older people of Mercer who knew him well were very sorry to hear of his death. Funeral services at the home and the body was brought to Mercer Wednesday morning for interment.
