In the name of God Amen. I Christina Rohland, widow and relict of Jacob Rohland late of South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County and State of Pennsylvania being at present in perfect health of Body and of sound Mind, memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit, FIRST, it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expences be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. ITEM. I give and devise unto my son, Michael Rohland his heirs and assigns my tract or piece of land with the appurtenances situate in South Lebanon Township aforesaid adjoining lands of Henry Bomberger, Samuel Weiss, the old road leading from Lebanon to Sheafferstown containing fifteen acres more or less he paying for the same the sum of two thousand two hundred dollars within one year after my decease; as hereinafter directed. ITEM. All my wearing I give and bequeath to my three daughters Elizabeth, Christina and Mary share and share alike. ITEM. All my linin, wolen clothes, ? table linin, bed sheets, bedcases or whatsoever it may be of wollen or linen (except what is necessary for my two beds). I give and bequeath the same unto my Sons Michael & Henry and my daughter, Mary, share and share alike; I further give and bequeath unto my said son Michael my clock and case he paying for the same the sum of sixteen dollars. ITEM, it is further my will that the rest and residue of my personal goods & chattles and rest by me otherwise disposed of shall be sold by my Executor by public vendue as soon as can be conveniently done after my decease, and the proceeds arising from such Sale or Sales and the amount directed to be paid by my said son Michael Rohland for the land and clock and case given and bequeathed to him shall be divided in eight shares, after my just debts ? are paid of to wit, one share I give and bequeath unto my son, Jacob, one other share to my son, Abraham, one other share to my grandson, John Rohland (son of Philip), one other share to my son Michael, one other share to my son Henry, one other share to my daughter Elizabeth, one other share to my daughter Christina, one other share thereof to my daughter Mary share and share alike, and in case my said son, Michael Rohland should refuse to take the Land and premises herein before given and devised to him I direct my Executors hereinafter named to sell the same by public vendue for the best price that can be gotten for the same within one year after my decease and the proceeds arising from such sale my money, bonds, notes, or any other demands whatsoever due owing and belonging to me at the time of my decease, after the payment of my Just debts, costs, and charges which may accrue in the settlement of my Estate are paid of shall be divided and paid in eight shares as herein before directed. I FURTHER give and bequeath unto my said son, Michael Rohland all the grain, Hay, grass, straw, apples, loose posts and rails which may be on the said premises at the time of my decease and one year thereafter and in case I should make a great deal of trouble in my last sickness, it is my will that my son, Michael and my daughter, Mary, or such person who may attend me shall be reasonably compensated for his or their services. It is FURTHER my will and devise that my daughter Mary shall remain and stay with my son Michael so long she remains sole or single. And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Michael Rohland to be the sole Executor of this my will hereby revoking all other wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty first day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.
