    PUBLISHER'S NOTE. -- The difficulties attending the first attempt at an enterprise like that here presented are many, and when to this is added the fact that the numbers have not yet been placed on a large protion of the houses, but only designated on a chart, prepared by direction of the Borough authorities, the impossibility of avoiding errors will be apparent. For the incompleteness of the numbering, and especially the omission of the numbers on whole streets and alleys, even on the chart, the publisher is, of course, not to blame. The book is as near perfect as it could be made at this early day.
