Family Reunions have been around for a long time. Perhaps they were organized for different reasons over the centuries -- to celebrate a birth -- to solemnize a death; to baptize a baby; to come together on a Holy Day; to get together just to reminisce and get to know other family members. Some were large and some were small. Many traveled long distances.
As travel became easier, more families began holding family reunions. They came to involve far more planning and often that planning began a year or so in advance. Some families held picnics others were far more organizational, electing officers and collecting names of members -- and keeping track of the old timers and their genealogies.
Morton Montgomery gave great credibility to the reunions by including them in his History. The following 33 appeared. In addition, if anyone else has family reunion information we will add it here.
