KLINE posted by Carol Jenkins on Saturday, April 15, 2000

KLINE-I am searching for my great grandfather, Charles (Charley) Leroy Kline. He left Burkes Co. prior to Nov. 4, 1904, which is when he married my great grandmother in Balto. Md. He died in 1918, so the info. we have is sketchy. His date of birth is 2 March, but the year could be either 1878, 1879, or 1881. We assume he attended the Methodist Episcopal church, because he met my ggrandmother in one. He was 6'2" tall and had curly hair. He spoke with a heavy Pa. Dutch accent. He said his father was a lawyer, but, as far as we know,Charles was never in contact with his father once he came to Balto. He always said he would take my ggrandmother to meet his family, but he was murdered. If you have lost a branch off your family tree, and this all sounds familiar, contact me.

BRACKEN, STAUFFER posted by Wayne Bracken on Saturday, April 15, 2000

Who did SUSANAH STAUFFER marry in about 1800 against wishes of her father ABRAHAM STAUFFER of Colebrookdale Twp of Berks County? He spoke of this in his will (Bk D pg 120). Could the dispised son-in-law have been JOSEPH BRACKEN?

BRACKEN, STAUFFER posted by Wayne Bracken on Saturday, April 15, 2000

Upon further reflection, the Berks County marriage of Susanah STAUFFER, daughter of Abraham Stauffer, could have been earlier, like 1775-78, and the husband could have been Stephen BRACKEN not Joseph Bracken. Joseph Bracken could have been their son.

BAIR, CRIPLIVER, MYER, NORRICK posted by Bill Bailey on Saturday, April 15, 2000

Looking for help with the Cripliver and Norrick families.

The Cripliver/Krepliver/Krepleber family from Germany who possibly settled first in your county before moving on to Salt Lick Parish, Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania in 1791.

In Fayette County,Pa. they lived very close to the Norrick/Narrick, another German family which also may have settled first in your county.

About 1806 the Criplivers and Norricks settled North Township, Harrison County, Ohio and both raised large families. The children spread into Indiana, Iowa, and Illinois.
