KANTNER, SWEITZER posted by Floa Swisher on Wednesday, December 15, 1999

Hello,
I found information in "Early PA Births 1675-1875"
Compiled by Charles A. Fisher, Baltimore
Geenealogical Pub Co. Inc 1979....stating a burial of
a John SWITZER (11/21/1795-8/26/1856) s/o John & Sarah
and his wife Catherine (KANTNER) 6/22/1796 - 6/25/1855.
They are buried Old Cemetery Trinity (Tulpehocken) reformed Church, Millardsville, PA. {according to this source}.
The description of the location for the cemetery states
that it is close to the Berks County- Lebanon County
Line, probably in Berks County.
Since John Sweitzer died in 1856, I was wondering if I
could sweet talk someone into checking out his death
records for me? PLEASE?!?

MOYER, RICKENBACH, RUBRIGHT posted by Tom Rickenbach on Wednesday, December 15, 1999

I don't have direct information on Nathan Rickenbach (b. 1889). BUT, if he lived in Camden NJ, then there is a very good chance that he is the son of either Wilson Rickenbach (1859-1918 m. Susanna MOYER, m. Annie RUBRIGHT, m. Alice Williams), James Rickenbach (1862-aft. 1936, m. Hettie Ogden), or William Howard Rickenbach (1853-1927, m. Lydia Knarr). These brothers along with brothers Curtin (1863-1934) and Edwin (1856-1894) had a drydock and canal boat operation in Bern Township north of Reading PA with their father James (1830-1891) on the Schuylkill River. When the canals silted up and were outcompeted by the railroads, Curtin, Wilson, and probably James moved to Camden around the turn of the century and went into the ship building business.
Do you have any other information on Nathan's family - siblings, etc? I have a partial list of Wilson's children: Charles, Annie Laura, Florence, Ruth, Ralph, Wilson. Anything ring a bell? I hope to hear from you as I am trying to fill in this part of the tree. Wilson's brother Edwin was my gg grandfather.

ALSO, BERNHEISEL, LENGLE, LINGLE, SPELLED posted by Susan Bollfrass on Wednesday, December 15, 1999

My Grandmother was Ruth Harriet Lingle Toberman, and she grew up in Harrisburg, but after WWI moved with her husband to Reading. Her father was Harry
Lingle and he married Margaret Bernheisel. Their marriage produced three children: Ralph..who died in his early 20's from TB
Pierre
Ruth Harriet
My grandmother always said they were Swiss Huguenots and I have recently learned of Paul Lingle who settled in Tulpehocken Twnsp. around 1737. I am certain that this is a family link. Harry was an Engineer and went to India when my grandmother was a young girl...I have the letters he wrote to her while he was overseeing the building of the first "iron" bridge in India. They lived along the river in Harrisburg in a fairly substantioal home. I am also very interested in the Bernheisel connection, and have recently learned of a John and or Johannes Bernheisel who fought in the Revolutionary War (Schuylkill Valley Patriots...Vol #2.)
I am working on a family history and would love any information I can find.
Thank you ...Susan
