My gg-grandfather, George Schlotterbeck born on or about August 24, 1801 in Berks Co. PA and migrated to Pickaway Co. OH about 1805; then to Harrison Co. IN about 1820. His father and mother were John Schlotterbeck and Elizabeth Hartman, I think, but am not positve. George was supposedly a very religious man; a Lutheran. He was a strong political figure and a Jacksonian Democrat. Would love to find a church membership, birth or christening record of any of the above.

I have several questions relating to the same problem. I think if someone can tell me what ship Conrad WEISER came on, or a list of the passengers on his ship, it would help in my search for my lost CHRIST'S. I have been up against this brickwall for a while and I can't seem to get around it. The names I am coming up with seem to match those that came from NY with Conrad WEISER. Does anyone know which George CHRIST settled in Tulpehocken. There are several Georges in the area and I would like to make sure I have the one that came from NY. Would anyone know the name of George's wife and children? Also I am looking for info on the the MILLER families that migrated with them. I would be very happy to learn something about any of these families! Thanks, Brenda

Historical records states, General J.Gery, rendered his country gallant service in the Rebellion. General Gery is the most honored and respected citizen of his community. Does any one recognize or connect with this Gentleman? Also, what rebellion did the historical records refer to? The documents did not mention it.

DANIEL B. HALLMAN & ANNIE (DALRIMPLE) HALLMAN. Annie, we think, is originally from Haifax, Nova Scotia, but it is possible that she spent her final years in PA. I have no birthdates, for either of them, nor any other info on Daniel B. Hallman. The reason that I think they may be in PA. is because of the SSDI. The Annie that I think could be the one I am trying to pin down was last in Berks co., PA. Also, they have a son Henry and a son Charles, as well as another daughter, Mae (MAYE?) Have George, Jacob and Abraham arriving possibly in 1735, Ship Mercury. Noticed that Weitman on Will I have for Johannes Weidman of Tulpehocken Twp.,Berks County is also spelled Weitman on the envelope, in 1819 @ time of his death.
At Christ Church, Stouchsburg there is a Christian Witman,
who possibly could be a son of Jacob. Would you tell me how you know that Jacob was the father of Christian. Our line is
involved in what is called the Tulpehocken Confusion, a
difference in opinion in relgion of those times. Any info you may have on this would be helpful to me as well.

I am attempting to confirm the parents of JOHN EISENHAUER (born Feb 5, 1774 in Berks Co. Pa)married to CATHERINE PLANK. They had a daughter, MARIE ELIZABETH EISENHAUER (born Nov 3, 1797 in Dauphin Co. Pa) who married WILLIAM BLOODHART. I have JOHN EISENHAUER'S parents as PETER EISENHAUER and MARIA SCHMIDT. I have doubt about this parentage. Is anyone familiar with this family? THANK YOU

I know that there were many Goodharts in the Reading area in the 1800s. I have record of an Estella May Angstadt married to Peter Neikirch L. Goohart in the very early 1900s. Is this your line, and if so, do you have her dates, places, parents, etc? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Records of Bern Reformed Church in Berks County show that Ulrich Himmelberger was baptized 12 April 1752. His father was Valentine Himmelberger.
Valentine Himmelberger's Will dated 28 February 1787 lists Ulrich Himmelberger as one of his children.
There are three Himmelbergers I cannot relate to Valentine:
Jerg Himelberger who arrived on the ship "Patience" in 1749.
Wilhelm Himmelberger whose daughter was buried 2 September 1793 (Schwartzwald records of J.W. Boos).
Baltzer Himmelberger who was listed as grantee in a Berks County deed recorded 7 April 1789.

Your STIEHLY may be connected to a MAURER line, but prob. not mine. STIEHLY sounds Swiss, as some Swiss names end with y or i. Look also for STAEHLY, STAEHLI, etc.
I think a Christian MAURER was a witness at a STIEHLY or STAEHLY baptism at Hain's Church about the 1760s or so, maybe 1750s. Or perhaps STIEHLY was sponsor at the MAURER baptism. I think the Christian MAURER in the record I'm talking about was the one from Reading, taverner, who died about 1773-75 in Reading, "without issue" (no children).
I've been researching Maurers for about 20 years.

Please give more details. You say he was born in Bern, which to me means Bern, Switzerland. But the name Gernant if familiar to me through Berks Co., Pa., so I think you mean Bern Twp, Berks Co., yes?
Tell me more about their origins in Alsace-Lorraine. Is this family tradition?
Incidentally, my father's name is Ralph Ernest Mowrer, of Gig Harbor, Wash., born 1919, though for many years he has gone by the nickname "Mike."
