MORRIS William Harvey Morris, of Rimersburg, Pa.,
a leading citizen of that town, died October 16, 1923,
aged 82 years 1 month and 26 days. At the age of
20, Mr. MORRIS enlisted in the 67th Infantry of Pennsylvania
Volunteers, Company F, and served thruout the war as
a drummer. After the war he accepted a position as manager
and book-keeper of the Red Bank Furnace Company, and
remained with that company for 12 years. Later he was
post master at Rimersburg for many years. Perhaps
the finest monument to Mr. MORRIS is the present condition
of the Rimersburg cemetery. The beauty of that burial
ground is due largely to Mr. MORRIS' efforts. Funeral

Myers, Mr. Michael Mr.
Michael Myers, aged 88 years, 4 months and 23 days,
fell asleep in Jesus at 7:20 o'clock Sabbath morning,
November 30, (1919), at the home of his son Fred, near
Chicora, PA. He was a life long and faithful member
of the English Lutheran church of Mt. Pleasant, Armstrong
county, and an honorary member of the Woman's home and
foreign missionary societies. He also was a veteran
of the Civil war, having served with Co. F, 50th Regiment,
from September 20, 1864 until June 2, 1865. He is

Mrs. Ada Kamerer, J. W. Myers, of Armstrong county;

M. Ward and Mrs. R. M. Thompson, of Akron, Ohio.
How he will be missed by his children and all members
of his church, and in the congregation, which he dearly
loved! He was a comfort to his pastor, and manifesting
interest in ministers of the Gospel in general. He reached
the allotted span of human life, having departed this
life in his 89th year. He now lives with his Savior,
where sorrow and tears and suffering are not, and waits
the coming of his loved ones. He was laid to rest in
the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran cemetery by the side of
his wife who proceded him in death fifteen years ago.
Who knows how near our end may be? Time speeds away,
and death comes on. But it is not death to die, to
leave this weary road. No, it is not dying to be at
home with God. Beloved, it is well. God's ways
are always well, and perfect love is o'er them all,
though far above our sight. Not our will, but thine
will be done. And when the battles of life are o'er,
we will meet thee in Heaven.
