East Brady, June 3. - Robert S. FILSON, well known retired Pennsylvania Railroad conductor, died unexpectedly in his home on Monday morning, June 3, 1946. Mr. FILSON suered a heart attack on Saturday. His condition appeared to be much improved on Sunday. He suffered a relapse during the night and died at 5:45 o'clock.
Mr. FILSON was aged 65 years, nine months and 17 days, having been born at Arnold on August 16, 1880, a son of the late David and Mary Elizabeth (SPRATT) FILSON. Practically all of Mr. FILSON's life had been spent in this neighborhood. He was a ruling elder in East Brady Presbyterian church, a member of F. & A. M. lodge No. 640 of East Brady and of the Coudersport consistory.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel (KING) FILSON, and three brothers, J. F. T. FILSON, Kittanning, D. M. FILSON of Emlenton and H. C. FILSON of Oil City.
Friends are being received in Stewart funeral home in East Brady. Funeral services will be held in East Brady Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the pastor, Rev. Harold B. Taylor, in charge. Burial will be made in St. Paul's (White) cemetery in Sugarcreek township.

Flick, Mrs. Gertrude

A 44 year-old Sugarcreek township mother of 10, stricken with a heart attack, died within a half hour yesterday afternoon before a physician could be summoned, Coroner A. W. DOSCH reported today.
She was Mrs. Gertrude Blanche FLICK, wife of Elmer FLICK, widely known farmer in that district.
The woman was upstairs when stricken. A daughter heard her fall and summoned other members of the family, at work in fields nearby.
Surviving are the husband, six sons, Harry, Arthur, Floyd, Kenneth, LeRoy and Wesley; four daughters, Lillie, Alice, Louise, and Vernie, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Jane SNYDER, Red Bank; two brothers, John SNYDER, Red Bank and Harvey, Sugarcreek township; three sister, Mrs. James GUTHRIE, Trippletown; Mrs. Maggie HAUN, Callensburg and Mrs. Hugh GUTHRIE, Sugarcreek township.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 pm tomorrow but the place of burial had not been decided upon this morning.

Foster, Mrs. Alma

Mrs. Alma FOSTER, wife of John A. FOSTER, died suddenly at 6:45 o'clock Thursday night, February 13, 1947, as she was surrounded by members of her family as they gathered in her home, 217 South Jefferson Street, for a birthday dinner celebration.
Mrs. FOSTER, a daughter of William and Tillie (SMITH) PATTON, was born in Worthington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Darl PROCIOUS and Mrs. William MOESTA, both of Kittanning; and two grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. W. H. FISHER of Oakmont; a brother, W. L. PATTON of Verona; and her step-mother, Mrs. W. H. PATTON of Oakmont.
Friends will be received at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William MOESTA, 114 Rebecca street, where funeral services will be conducted by her pastor, Dr. M. M. MCDIVITT of the First Presbyterian church, on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Burial will be made in the family plot in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
The Montgomery funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

Foster, Angeline

Aged Woman Passes
Miss Angeline FOSTER, 83, was found dead this morning at her home in Sugar Creek township. She was the last of her family and resided alone in a small house near that of Addie MCGARVEY, whom she had reared. She noted no smoke about the home today and looking through the window saw her sitting in her chair. Entering the home she found her dead. It is thought she passed away Sunday evening from a stroke. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon.

Foster, Mrs. Anna

Mrs. Anna FOSTER passed away at her residence at 163 South Jefferson street at 8:20 am Sunday, November 29. She was a daughter of John and Elizabeth (SIMPSON) AMBROSE, and was born in East Franklin township, near Cowansville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomts* FOSTER, who died forty-one years ago.
Mrs. FOSTER is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. N. WILSON and Mrs. J. E. MCELROY; four sons, William A., James C., John A., and S. Lee; also two sisters, Mrs. Susan PATTON and Mrs. Lina CALHOUN; one brother, Dr. A. T. AMBROSE of Redland, Cal., and 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of the Cowansville Presbyterian church from early childhood up until she changed her residence to Kittanning whereupon she became a member of the First Prresbyterian church of Kittanning and took an active part in the work of the church and in the Women's Bible Class.
The remains werre taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. N. WILSON of 552 Hawthorne avenue, where funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, December 1, by Rev. A. E. Driggers. Interment will be in the family plot in the Cowansville cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Ellen FOSTER, aged 80 years and 29 days, widow of James Addison FOSTER, died at 12:05 am, yesterday in her home at Sugar Creek.
Surviving are one brother, William PATTON, Verona, and three grandchildren, Foster, Margaret and John BOLTZ, Sugar Creek township.
Funeral services are to be held from the home at 1:30 pm tomorrow with burial in the Cowansville cemetery.

Galbraith, Angus W.

Angus W. GALBRAITH, a life long resident of Freeport borough, aged 87 years, died Friday afternoon, December 3, 1937 at his residence at Freeport.
He was one of the oldest residents of Freeport, a son of William and Mary GALBRAITH, both deceased. His father was a United Presbyterian minister.
He was well known in this county and a member of the Masonic Armstrong Lodge No. 239, at Freeport.
His survivors are the children of deceased brothers and sisters, all of whom reside in the west, except William GRIFFITH, a nephew, of Carnegie; and Margaret MORRAN, a niece, of Cannonsburg, PA.
Funeral services will be held at the Turner Funeral Home in Freeport, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Yarnell, United Presbyterian minister. The Masonic Order will attend the funeral.
Interment will be in Freeport cemetery.

Garner, Mrs. Sarah

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth MCELHANEY GARNER, died at her residence in Brady's Bend township Friday, June 14, 1935. She was aged 81 years and seven months.
Four children survive: Mrs. Ellen GARNER, of RD 1, Chicora; A. J. MCELHANEY of RD 1, East Brady; Cora and Dessie MCELHANEY, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. James MCELROY of RD 2, Karns City, and Mrs. Margaret HENRY of Dayton, also survive; as well as one brother, Simon TAYLOR, of East Brady; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock, eastern standard time, Monday, from the residence in Bradys Bend township. Burial will be in White Oak cemetery.

John GRIFFITHS, 57, of Kaylor, died at his home in Kaylor today after a long illness of heart disease. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret GRIFFITHS; three sons, Emmet, Albert and Lester, and a daughter, Mrs. W. R. KLINGENSMITH, all of Kaylor; three brothers, Joseph and James of Bradys Bend, and Albert of Ford City; a half brother, George POOLE of New York City, and a sister, Mrs. Jedidah HERTWECK of Glenshaw.

Joseph GRIFFITHS died at his home in East Brady RD 1 on Sunday, July 9, at 9:30 AM. He was 64 years of age.
Mrs. GRIFFITHS is survived by his wife, Ida KING GRIFFITHS; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph KILLEAN of Butler, Mrs. Lawrence ELDER of Corydon, PA., Mrs. Raymond MCELROY of Chicora RD 1, and Fern GRIFFITHS at home; and four sons, Donald of East Brady RD 1, PFC. Lee and PFC. Hubert, both in Italy; and CPL Wayne at Camp Forrest, Tenn.
Also surviving are a brother, James GRIFFITHS, of North Apollo; a sister, Mrs. Jedidah HERTWICK, of Glenshaw; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 12, at 2 o'clock at the family home. Rev. L. Paul Meuller, pastor of Mt. Pleasat Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial is to be made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
Snyder funeral home of Cowansville is in charge of arrangements.

Groves, Edward R.

Edward R. GROVES, of Kaylor, son of the late George and Sara A. (MORGAN) GROVES, died at his home in Kaylor, Saturday evening, December 8, 1934, after an illness of several weeks. He was born at Cowansville on May 9, 1869, being 66 years of age at his death.
Mr. GROVES was a well-known and highly respected citizen in the community in which he lived. He served as tax collector for Brady's Bend township for a number of years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret MEYBIN GROVES, and the following children, Mrs. Paul C. CROW, Pasadena, Calif., Helen GROVES, of New York; Mary Evelyn, John M. and Nelson GROVES all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie POOLE of Kaylor, and Mrs. Ella PAINTER of Birdville; and one brother, Charles GROVES of Kaylor.
Funeral services will be held at his late home on Tuesday at 2 pm., in charge of Rev. H. T. Chisholm, pastor of the Presbyterian church at East Brady, and Rev. Frampton of Kaylor. Interment will be made in the Brady's Bend cemetery.

JOHN C. HORMON*
John Chambers HARMON, of East Brady RD 1, a farmer of Sugarcreek township, Armstrong county, practically all his life, died Friday, February 9, 1940, at 6:45 pm at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jessie BERNARD, East Brady RD 1.
He was aged 75 years, having been born Jan. 1, 1865, in Sugarcreek township, the son of John and Caroline SWARTZLANDER HARMON.
His wife Sarah BURFORD HARMON, died in 1930.
Survivors include the following children: Mrs. BERNARD, East Brady RD 1; Mrs. Harry PORTERFIELD, Ford City; Mrs. Anna WELCH, Mrs. J. A. RAY and John HARMON, East Brady RD.; 24 grondchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Margaret SUTTON and Mrs. Ida WALTERS, Tarentum; Miss Jennie HARMON, Baltimore, Md.; Howard HARMON, Kittanning RD.; and Mrs. Susan VENSEL, East Brady RD 1.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 12, at 3 pm in St. Paul's Reformed church, Sugarcreek township, of which the deceased was a member. Rev. John Witmer, pastor, was the officiant.
Interment was made in the church cemetery.
The Stewart Funeral Home, East Brady, was in charge.

Harman, Mrs. Margaret

Mrs. Margaret “Kate” Moore Harman, 75, 2691 Ridge Road, S.E., died of heart ailment at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug 17, 1988) in St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1913, in Apollo, Pa. the daughter of Charles E. and Alice Mae Steel Moore.
Her husband, Si D. Harman, died Oct 28, 1970.
Before retiring in 1973, Mrs. Harman was employed as a nursing assistant at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She formerly worked for Mullins Manufacturing Co. for 19 years.
Survivors include a step-daughter, June Gobel of Parkersburg, W.VA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Seven brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Sara Belle HARMON, aged 71 years, nine months and 12 days, passed away at her home in Sugar Creek township Saturday evening, December 8, 1934.
She is survived by her husband, William HARMON; four daughters, Mrs. Bert SNYDER and Mrs. Joseph MORGAN of Kittanning, Georgia and Ruth HARMON, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Frederick BOOHER and Mrs. Cora BISH, both of Cowansville RD 1, and three brothers, James and William CRAWFORD, of Cowansville RD 1, and Robert CRAWFORD, of Tarentum.
The funeral cortege will leave the late home Tuesday at 1 o'clock and services will be held in St. Paul's Reformed church, Sugar Creek township, at 2 pm. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Susan HARMAN, aged 83, formerly of Sugar Creek township, Armstrong county, died Tuesday, July 6, at the home of her son, Jacob A. HARMAN, 1008 Center avenue, of a stroke. She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed church in Muddycreek township, and the widow of the late David Harman. Surviving her are the follwing children: F. C. HARMAN, J. A. HARMAN and Mrs. H. W. SHAKELY, all of Butler; Mrs. Della STROTT, Turtle Creek; Mrs. John MCKINNEY, East Brady, and Mrs. L. H. KEPPLE, Ellwood City. A sister and a brother also survive. They are Mrs. Elizabeth VENSEL, of the Evans City district, and Fred ELLENBERGER of the Southside.

Mrs. Annie H. Hause, 68, wife of Henry Hause of Lucesco, Allegheny Twp., suffered a fatal coronary occlusion yesterday morning at 1:20 in the home of her son, Eugene Hause, 366 Washington St., Leechburg.
Mrs. Hause had been with her son, recuperating from recent surgery at Woman's Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Lucesco May 16, 1892, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Molly Tonks Shuster.
Mr. Hause is a retired coal miner.
She had resided in Allegheny Twp. all her life and was long a member of the Allegheny United Presbyterian Church.

Hause, Henry S.

Henry S. Hause, 91, of Allegheny Township, died yesterday (Oct. 12, 1978) at 11:55 a.m. in the home of his son Robert K. of Brackenridge, after a two-year illness.
The lifelong area resident was born in Glenshaw, Oct. 18, 1886, to John H. and Mary Ruttenbusch Hause.
An area coal miner for 50 years, Mr. Hause retired in 1951 from the Hicks Coal Co., Butler Junction.
Besides his son, Robert, he is survived by two other sons: John H. of Beaumont, Calif., and Eugene H. of Leechburg; three daughters: Mrs. James (Anna) Jardine of Sarver, Mrs. Clell (Eleanor) Hamilton of West Leechburg and Mrs. Howard W. (Helen) Stull of Utica, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
His wife, Anna H. Hause, died in 1960; two sons: William G. in 1943 and Glenn K. in 1960; two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Friends will be received tonight from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Richard L. Redmond Funeral Home, Sixth at High, Freeport, where the Rev. John W. Foester, pastor of the Freeport United Presbyterian Church, will conduct a service Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Township.

Hause, John

John Hause, mine foreman at the Lucesco Coal Co. mine across the river was struck by the Kittanning accommodation on the Valley road last Saturday, Nov. 29, and received injuries that proved fatal. He was crossing the track to an engine taking coal on the siding and the noise of the coal running down the chute together with the escaping steam prevented his hearing the approach of the train. He was struck on the side and his ribs crushed in. He was removed to his home in the Clow house, corner First and High streets, where he died within an hour. He leaves a wife and five children, the eldest a son aged 17, who will have to bear the burden of supporting the family. The Lucesco Coal Co. paid all the expense attending his death and funeral. He was born in Madison Twp., this county, July 29, 1868, and was a sober industrious man. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their trouble.

Mrs. John M. (BOWSER) HAWK, aged 79 years, died at her home in North Buffalo township, Sunday, February 17, 1929, of pneumonia.
Deceased is survived by her husband, 13 children: B. S., Kittanning, Dr. M. E. and Mrs. J. H. MCDONALD, Applewold; Dr. M. E., Wm. M. E., and Mrs. J. E. ALBRIGHT, Chicago; Mrs. J. W. GUMBERT and Mrs. Charles H. SIMPSON, Verona; Mrs. H. A. WAUGAMAN, Brackenridge; Mrs. H. C. RUFFNER, Lima, O.; Herbert J. Leon, Okla., Mrs. H. C. RICHARDS, Delaware, O.; and Hyatt L., Manorville; 42 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church, Kittanning, Wednesday morning. Rev. W. Norman Liddy officiating. Interment in Montgomeryville Baptist church.

Aged Wife Passes.
After having lived together for over 60 years, Mr. and Mrs. John M. HAWK have been seperated by death which claimed Mrs. HAWK, Sunday. She was taken ill last Friday with pneumonia and died Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hawk were married November 8, 1868, and were parents of 18 children, 13 of whom survive.

FUNERAL

Funeral services for Dr. Mervine E. HAWK, Kittanning physician who died in his North Jefferson street home on Saturday evening, were held in the Montgomery chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. W. K. Morgan, pastor of the First Baptist church, assisted by Rev. John WAUGAMAN, pastor of Franklin Union Baptist church of Worthington, a nephew of Dr. HAWK.
Burial was made in the Montgomeryville cemetery. Six nephews, Craig SIMPSON, John RICHARDS, Mort HAWK, Hays MCDONALD Jr., Stanley HAWK and John WAUGAMAN acted as body bearers.

Hawk, Mervine E., Dr.

Death came suddenly to Dr. Mervine E. HAWK, well known Kitttanning osteopath, at his home at 150 North Jefferson street on Saturday evening, February 2, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock.
Dr. HAWK had not been in good health for almost a year, but his condition appeared to be improved. He and Mrs. HAWK had planned a trip to Florida in March.
Dr. HAWK was born in North Buffalo township on July 6, 1886, a son of the late John M. and Ann (BOWSER) HAWK.
A graduate of the Los Angeles School of Osteopathy in 1912, Dr. HAWK practiced his profession in Augusta, Me., for six years. He came to Kittanning in 1922, where he has since maintained an office.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel HAWK; a daughter, Mrs. Jane H. DALLAS, of Detroit, Mich.; a son, John M. HAWK of Wasco, Calif., and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Ben S. HAWK and Mrs. Hays MCDONALD of Kittanning; Dr. M. C. HAWK and Mrs. Grace ALBRIGHT of Chicago, Ill.; William E. HAWK, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Harvvey WAUGAMAN, Cabot, Herbert HAWK, Wynnewood, Okla.; Mrs. Charles SIMPSON, Verona; Mrs. Homer RUFF, Lima, Ohio, and Mrs. C. H. RICHARDS, Delaware, Ohio.
Friends are being received in the Montgomery funeral home, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock Rev. W. K. Morgan, pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. He will be assisted by Dr. HAWK's nephew, Rev. John WAUGAMAN, pastor of Franklin Union Baptist church of Worthington.
Burial will be made in Montgomeryville cemetery.

Charles Hazlett, formerly of Ford City, died at 7:45 a.m. yesterday in his home in Durant City, near Kane.

Funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. J. P. Miller at 604 Fifth avenue, Ford City, a daughter at 2 p.m. tomorrow in charge of the Rev. Travis of the Ford Memorial M. E. church.  Burial in Manor cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Emma, Mrs. Miller and two sons, Thomas R., Durant City, and David H., of Barberton, O.

Heidrick, Miss Annie

Miss Annie HEIDRICK, aged 83 years, died suddenly at her home near Cowansville, Wednesday, March 30, 1938, at 5 pm while sitting in a chair in her home. She was in her usual health.
Surviving her are three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth BEILSTEIN, Butler; Mrs. Margaret BOLTZ, East Brady RD 1; and Miss Louisa HEIDRICK at home; one brother, Henry HEIDRICK, Cowansville RD 1.
She was a lifelong member of the Brady's Bend Lutheran church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 1, at 2 pm in the Cowansville Presbyterian church by the Rev. Brecht, pastor of the Chicora Lutheran church, assisted by the Rev. Francis B. Marks, pastor of the Cowansville Presbyterian church.
Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Emma HEIDRICK (nee BIPPUS), 66 died at her residence near Cowansville at 10:15 o'clock Monday morning, September 28, 1936, following an illness of about five months.
Born in Butler county January 26, 1870, Mrs. HEIDRICK had in later life enjoyed a large circle of friends.
She is survived by her husband, H. A. HEIDRICK; two children, Estella Viola, wife of Frank CUPP, and John A. HEIDRICK, both of Kittanning RD 3, as well as one grandchild, Madeline Mae HEIDRICK, and one sister, Mrs. Lydia FINDLEY, of Butler.
Mrs. HEIDRICK was a faithful member of the Cowansville Presbyterian church, where the pastor, Rev. Francis B. Marks, will conduct funeral services at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Amanda HENRY, aged 80 years, three months and three days, passed away at her home in Sugar Creek township, Wednesday afternoon, January 16, 1935.
She is survived by four nephews, John HENRY, of Alexander, Ind., William and Ebby HENRY of Kittanning, and Thomas HENRY, of Vandergrift; also one niece, Mrs. Olice BARNEY of Petrolia.
Funeral services will be held in the Cowansville Presbyterian church on Friday at 3 pm. The funeral cortege will leave the home at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Sarah Bell Henry, wife of Wilson J. Henry, one of the best loved women in this community died at her home in North Fourth Street, Sunday at 12:30. Mrs. Henry had not been in good health for a number of years but was not considered serious until a short time ago and the news of her death was a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Henry was born March 14, 1865 at Cochrans Mills, a daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Schall. She came to Apollo forty years ago and has resided here ever since. She was united in marriage with Wilson T. Henry February 10, 1889. Mrs. Henry has had an active and useful life. Her many acts of kindness and good deees [sic] endeared her to all. She was an ardent worker in the Lutheran Church and for years served as President of the Working Circle. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club, Eastern Star, W. R. C. and P. H. C. Funeral services were held at the late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, in charge of her pastor, Rev. M. L. Clare assisted by Rev. Moser and Rev. Leroy Louther. Surviving are her husband and three children, Dr. Edgar Henry, of Coroapolis; Fred Henry, of Blairsville, and Mrs. Lenore Kimmel, at home, also her aged mother and the following brothers and sisters: A. P. and R. E. Schall, of Vandergrift; Mrs. J. S. Lafferty, of Latrobe; Mrs. H. W. McIlwain, of Canton; H. L. Schall and Mrs. H. B. Lemmon, of Massilon, Ohio, and Mrs. H. D. Lockard, of Avonmore.
Adding to the sorrow of the family, the aged mother of Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Elizabeth Schall, who is in the 88th year of her age, accidentally fell down a flight of stairs at the Henry home Wednesday morning and suffered serious injuries. On account of her advanced age her recovery is doubtful.

On Saturday, January 8, 1944, the soul of our friend and neighbor took its flight into that city not made with hands and has entered into that reward which God has prepared for all those who faithfully serve Him. She kept that faith and joined the loved ones gone before. She was sick but a short time and her death came as a shock to all who knew her. Mrs. Henry was born Dec. 17, 1861, in Armstrong county, near Kittanning, Pa., a daughter of Sloan and Jane Cochran. On Sept. 25, 1888, she was united in marriage to George Henry of Monroe township. Mr. Henry preceded her in death three years ago. One son, Jay, died in 1918. Mrs. Henry is survived by the following children: Mrs. Anna Milliner [sic] who lives on the old home where Mrs. Henry died. Alva, also of Monroe township; Mrs. Goldie Servey and Mrs. Ida George, of Limestone township; Marion, of Harmony, and Woods, of New Kensington. She leaves 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. On Sept. 25, 1938, Mr. and Mrs. Henry celebrated their golden wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Henry lived all their married life in Clarion county. Funeral services were held at her home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Powell, of the Church of God, Clarion, and interment was made in the family plot in Reidsburg cemetery under the direction of Fred Jenkins of Clarion. Pallbearers were: D. V. Fox, Leslie Henry, Paul McClune, Robert Curll, Jay Bryant; and Harry V. Curll.

Worthington, May 14.-Mrs. Margaret (YINGST) HEPLER, wife of Charles HEPLER, died at her home on Monday morning, May 14, 1945, at 4:20 o'clock from a heart attack. Mrs. HEPLER had attended services in the Lutheran church on Sunday morning. She became ill about 10 o'clock on Sunday evening.
Mrs. HEPLER is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Arthur STEWART, Kittanning RD 3; Mrs. Hazel STOUFFER, Mrs. John GEORGE, Mrs. Robert CLAYPOOLE, and Mrs. Wade GEORGE. all of Worthington; Mrs. Clifford BOWSER, Evans City and Miss Betty June HEPLER, at home; two sons, David HEPLER, Tarentum and Homer HEPLER, serving with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific.
Also surviving are seven sisters and four brothers, Mrs. William ALTMAN, Cabot; Mrs. Ida STEWART, Tarentum; Mrs. George NEYMAN, Earlsboro, Okla.; Mrs. Jared MEEKER, Craigsville; Mrs. Gilbert EKAS and Mrs. James ALTMAN of West Winfield; Mrs Etta HUTTON, Freeport; John and Claude YINGST of Tarentum; Harry YINGST of California and Dale YINGST of Philadelphia. There are 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren surviving.

Hepler, David

The venerable David HEPLER, of Sugarcreek township, was instantly killed on the P. R. R. tracks, near Phillipston, last Thursday afternoon, April 10th.
Mr. HEPLER left his home early that afternoon to go to East Brady for medicine for his wife, and it was while returning home along the railroad that he lost his life. When hit by the locomotive he was hurled for some distance to one side of the track, and when the body was examined it was found that death had resulted instantly.
Deceased was in the 84th year of his age and leaves his wife and the following children: J. A. HEPLER, at home; Mrs. Lizzie WILES, who with her husband but recently returned from California; Scott, of Sugarcreek township; Wallace, of DuBois; Abraham and Addison, of Rimersburg.

David Scott HEPLER, 93-year-old resident of Sugarcreek township, died in his home Sunday morning, January 18, 1948 at 4:30 o'clock.
He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed church and of Activity lodge No. 715 Odd Fellows.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Bertha LOPP of Bell, Calif.; Mrs. Mamie ALTVATER, Bellevue; Mrs. L. H. MCCAMEY, Bradford, and Miss Cora HEPLER at home; two sons, A. R. HEPLER, Vandergrift and Elmer HEPLER, Worthington; a brother J. A. HEPLER, Kaylor; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the late home until 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon when the body will be removed to St. Paul's (White) Reformed church in Sugarcreek township where it may be viewed until 2 o'clock, at which time funeral services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur Guldin. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

 Hepler, Howard M.

Howard M. HEPLER, 22, of Kaylor, died Saturday morning, August 23, at 11 o'clock, in Butler Memorial Hospital, after a three weeks' illness with pneumonia.
He was born in Bradys Bend township February 28, 1919, the son of David Lee and Bernice KAMERER HEPLER, and spent his entire life in the vicinity of Kaylor. He was an employee of the Pullman Standard Car Company of Butler and a member of the Mt. Pleasant English Luthern church.
He is survived, in addition to his parents, by a brother Jackie, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Norman RAUSCHENBERGER of Butler.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, DST, from the late home, with Rev. MARBURGER, his pastor, in charge, assisted by Rev. STECKLE of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church, East Brady.
Interment was to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Luthern cemetery.
Arrangements were in charge of the Stewart Funeral Home, East Brady.

MRS HULDA WALTERS HEPLER, aged 83 years, formerly of Sarver, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. O. COOPER, at Vandergrift, Saturday, December 1, 1928, of pneumonia. Services were held in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Sarver, Tuesday, 4th inst., interment in adjoining cemetery.
At the time of Mrs. HEPLER's death her husband, Wm. HEPLER, aged 84 years, a Civil War veteran, was sick in bed. He died Wednesday, December 5, 1928, and was laid to rest beside his wife the following Friday.

Mrs. Mae Glunt, pastor of the Free Gospel Mission of Vandergirft, Burial will be in an adjoining cemetery.

William HEPLER, 84, died today at the home of his daughter in Vandergrift, four days after the death of his wife, Mrs. Hulda HEPLER, 83. Both had been taken ill of pneumonia at the same time. HEPLER was a resident of the Sarver district and a veteran of the Civil War. Mrs. and Mrs. HEPLER had gone to Vandergrift to spend the winter with their daughter, Mrs. E. O. COOPER. Other survivors are two sons, Charles of Worthington and John of Glassmere. Mrs. Isabel Ament Hildebrand, 77 years old, wife of S. F. Hildebrand, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Welsh, Valley Heights, New Kensington, at 2:15 o’clock Wednesday morning, July 21, after an illness of two hours. Death was due to a heart attack.
Mrs. Hildebrand was one of the oldest citizens of Apollo. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church of Apollo, and took an active interest in all the activities of the church until her death.
She was the daughter of George and Hanna Ament, pioneer settlers of North Washington, where she was born, September 17, 1849. She came to Apollo a short time after marriage and resided on the Old Hildebrand farm, where the Kiski Valley Fair grounds are now located. In 1906 the family moved to Armstrong avenue where she had resided since.
Mrs. Hildebrand is survived by Mrs. Elizabeth Welsh, of New Kensington, Mrs. Bruce Coulter, of Vandergrift, Mrs. Edith Zimmerman, of this place, B. L. Hildebrand of Wilkinsburg, and E. W. and C. C. Hildebrand, Apollo. Also 14 grand children and 2 great-grand children and the following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Jane McLaughlin, of Pitcairn; Mrs. Martha Neill, of Williamstown, W. Va.; Mrs. W. W. Hill, of Apollo; Wm. Ament, of Vandergrift and E. E. Ament, of Wilkinsburg.
The remains were brought to her home at this place and funeral services were conducted in the First Lutheran Church, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by her pastor, Rev. M. L. Clare, assisted by Rev. George Lauffer, of Altoona, a nephew of the deceased. Interment followed in the Apollo cemetery.

Hiles, Mrs. Charles Hubert

Mrs. Charles Herbert HILES (nee Savilla HARMON) passed away in the Butler Memorial Hospital at 2:35 am Thursday, March 19, 1936. Born in Sugarcreek township, Armstrong county on July 30, 1895, she was aged 40 years, seven months, and 20 days.
From the time she was fifteen years of age Mrs. HILES was a loyal member of St. Paul's Reformed congregation of the Sugar Creek charge. The position filled by Mrs. HILES in life was by one who realized that as a follower of Christ she must be loyal not only to Him but through Him loyal to those around her. She was a devoted daughter, wife and mother at all times, She will be missed mostly by those who knew her best.
Her infant son preceded her in death two weeks ago. Surviving to mourn her loss are the follwing: her husband, Charles Hubert HILES Jr., two daughters, Helen Maxine and Margery Savilla; two sons, William Jack and James Hubert; her father, J. C. Harmon, four sisters, Mrs. M. A. BERNARD, Mrs. Harry PORTERFIELD, Mrs. Anna WELSCH, and Mrs. J. A. RAY; also one brother, J. F. HARMON.
Funeral services will be held in St. Paul's Reformed church, located on the Chicora-Kittanning road on Sunday afternoon, March 22 at 2:30 o'clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. R. D. Althouse. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Hiles, Mrs. Julia A.

Mrs. Julia A. HILES, aged 79 years died at her home in Brady's Bend township, near Kaylor at 5 o'clock Saturday morning, April 27, 1935.
A widow of the late John F. HILES Mrs. HILES is survived by two sons, Henry HILES at home and Elmer HILES of East McKeesport. One brother, Eli WOLFORD, of the state of Morrisey, of Buffalo, N.Y., and three grandchildren also survive.
She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed church, Sugarcreek township, where services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in charge of her pastor, the Rev. R. D. Althouse. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Hiles, Mrs. William H.

Mrs. William H. HILES of Bradys Bend, passed away at her home Monday evening, August 9, 1938, at 7:40 o'clock. She was 68 years old.
In addition to William HILES, her husband, six children survive as follows; James HARMON, Mrs. Alverta CRAWFORD, Lester BURFORD, Charles, Arthur, and John HILES, all of Bradys Bend. One brother, Bert DAVIS, of Rochester, Pa., is also a survivor.
Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's Reformed church, Bradys Bend, Thursday at 2:30 PM with Rev. John WHITMER in charge.
Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Hillwig, P. F.

P.F. HILLWIG, 72, of Oro Grande, Cal., a former resident of the Kaylor section died in his home following a heart attack.
He was born in Kaylor and moved to California 23 years ago. He was a farmer by occupation.
He leaves his widow and six children, all in California; two brothers, S. P. HILLWIG of Bell, Cal. and A. R. HILLWIG of Kaylor.
Funeral services and burial took place in California.

Miss May June Hilty, 77 of 315 South Third St., Apollo, died in Blairsville, Monday, March 22, at 8:30 a.m.
Born June 14, 1887, in Armstrong County, to Samuel E. Hilty and Bella Jane Gibson, she was a dressmaker.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Apollo, for 63 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte J. Miller, Apollo, and Mrs. Verda M. Smith, Apollo, with who she made her home for many years.
Friends will be received in the N. Lee Roy King Funeral Home, Apollo, from 7 to 9 p.m. today; from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Warren K. Martin, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

A 71-year-old retired stonemason, Albert H. HOLLY, died Saturday evening, July 15, at 11 o'clock in his Sugarcreek township home.  He is survived by his wife and children.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, July 18, at 9 o'clock (EST) in St. Patrick's R. C. church, at Sugarcreek. Rev. P. C. Gotschalle will officiate.  Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Luella Hunsberger, aged 66 years, 7 months and 7 days died at her home in South Bend Monday at 12:30 a.m. Funeral services in charge of Rev. Bash were held at the Reformed Church at South Bend Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
She was a daughter of the late Daniel King, a pioneer settler of the South Bend District and had spent her entire life in that community. Surviving are her husband, Oliver Hunsberger and the following children: Claude, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Edward Boyer, of South Bend; Ivan, of Pitcairn; and Miss Dorothy, at home. Also four sisters, two brothers and six grand-children.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Pauly, Apollo.
Friends will be received in the N. LeRoy King Funeral Home, Apollo, from 7 to 9 this evening; from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday, and from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Warren K. Martin, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

W. E. JENKINS, aged 72, died at his home in Kaylor Friday, September 11. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susan JENKINS, three children, Harry M. of New Kensington, Mrs. Wm. H. BARNHART at Kaylor and Eva at home, also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Kaylor Baptist church; also of the following orders: F. and A. M. William E. JENKINS, aged 72, died suddenly Friday, September 11, at his home in Kaylor. He is survived by his widow, Susan JOHNATHAN JENKINS; two daughters, Mrs. William BARNHART of Kaylor, and Miss Eva, at home; a son, Harry of New Kensington, and one sister, Mrs. S. M. WILES of Chicora. He was a member of the Baptist church of Kaylor. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon, and interment was made in the Brady's Bend cemetery.

Jewart, Mrs. Lavina Butler

Dayton -
Mrs Lavina Butler Jewart, 98, died at 1:05 pm Wednesday Nov. 11, 1953 in her Dayton home.  She had been a resident of Dayton for 81 years. She was born July 2, 1855 in Wayne Twp., a daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Delp) Houser.  She married twice, both of her husbands preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters and two sons:  Mrs A. L. Hankey (Maude) of Cauyahoga Falls, OH, Charles A. Butler of Falls River, MA, Estella S. Butler, at home, Mrs Arthur Turner (Cora) of Grove City, Mrs. R. H. Heilman (Olive) of Pittsburgh, and Clair C. Butler of New Castle.  Two other sons preceded her in death. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She was a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received in Wadding Funeral home where services will be held at 2 pm Friday in charge of Rev. T. R. R. Stull.  Burial will be made in Concord Cemetery.
