Samuel A.
Koonce was born about 1831 in Bedford, PA.
He lived in Mercer County most of his life, before
moving to South Chicago, Cook Co., IL, in 1880.
Samuel was married to Mary Maddix
and Mary Madison. They had
three children Julia, Salina Ella
and Francis "Frank" Samuel Koonce. All
their children were born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
My grandfather was Francis Samuel
Koonce. Frank was married to Matilda
Ceiga together they had 18 children. My mother was
the 17th child. She married Clebern
Leach. They had eight children, four are presently
living.
Samuel A. Koonce died 7
Apr 1901 in South Chicago, Cook, IL, and is buried in Oak
Hill Cemetery, Hammond, Lake, IN.
