LEFT
END—[Everett] Blythe
was a fine tackler and could keep pace with any of them.
LEFT
TACKLE—T. [Theodore "Ted"]
Husband and George were both
fine tackles and always opened a hole for the backfield to tear
through.
LEFT
GUARD—Smith was a big man and the
opposing team never gained much through him.
CENTER—Pearson
was awful husky and his passes were always good; he also backed up
the line and made many good tackles.
EIGHT
GUARD—J. [Joseph] Husband always
made his tackle on the other side of the line, when he hit a man
he always came down, a touchdown was never put over on him.
RIGHT
TACKLE—[Robert] Butler (Captain)
was always putting fight into his teammates and he never knew what
it was to play poor football himself. A touchdown was never put
over on him.
RIGHT
END—[Howard] Gills, beside making
every tackle he went for, also caught most of the forward passes
thrown him; he will be missed on the team.
LEFT
HALF—Milsop [Millsop], besides
being an excellent carrier of the ball, could throw passes that
went like a bullet to its mark.
RIGHT
HALF—[Haywood] Daugherty could run
like a fool when carrying the ball and his hands were always
itching to pick up a fumble, which he sometimes did.
FULL
BACK—[David] Shelley was a hard hitter
while running with the ball and tackling also, he made many a
touchdown when needed.
QUARTER
BACK—[Raymond] Dunn and [William]
Kelly
barked out their signals like bull dogs and always came through
with the stuff when needed.
END--[Cliff]
Richards in his work this year has shown that he will prove
valuable man in next year’s squad.
