Welsh
Baptist Church.—This
congregation was organized in 1869 with seven members: John
Reynolds, Eliza Reynolds, James Reynolds, Hannah Reynolds, John Propert,
Elizabeth Llewellyn, and one whose name could not be secured. Rev.
David Propert was the first preacher. The house of worship was
erected in July, 1870.

Baptist Church - This society was organized in 1869, with seven
original members, to wit: John
Reynolds, Eliza Reynolds, Elizabeth Llewellyn, James Reynolds, Hannah
Reynolds, John Propert, and one other female member (name not
obtained). Rev. David Propert was the
first preacher, and held services once a month. A church was erected
in July, 1870. Along those prominently engaged in the work of
building, were David E. Thomas, John Devereaux,
William Wilks, Joseph Wilks, John and James Reynolds, Benjamin Thomas,
John Propert, and John W. Lllewellyn, Rev. Thomas Thomas, located
here in December 1875. The present membership numbers
forty-eight. The Sabbath School has about eighty scholars.
Most of the members of this church came from Wales.
