18 August 1765, Samuel Findlay of Peters Twp, to James Thompson of Antrim
Twp, plantation situated near Antietam, joining John Mack and Catherine
Thompson; warrant dated 10 June 1762 to Samuel Findlay.  Franklin DB 1:491.

7 September 1774, William Smith will, Peters Twp, probated 8 April 1775,
names son-in-law Saml Findley and wife, Jane, Smith's daughter; land in
Crooked Creek in partnership with Dr. Alison and Saml Findley.  Cumberland

28 October 1774, Benjamin Chambers to Samuel Finley, 264 acres in Peters Twp
on bank of Conichocheque Creek adjoining James Wilkins, James McClelleand,
Oliver Wallace, Robert Culbertson, Robert McFarland; sold at public sale.

21 July 1776, Benjamin Chambers, late of Guilford to Samuel Finley, 154
acres in Peters Twp, adjoining Loriby's Gap.  Cumberland DB IE:418.

12 August 1785, John McClellan of Botontot County, VA to Samuel Findley of
Peters Twp, situated in Peters Twp, joining the Meeting House, William
McClellan, Richard Bard, John McCullough, James Witherow, Samuel Findlay and

16 December 1785, Samuel Findlay to John Gay; William Findlay lands of John
Davison and David Scott in Antrim Twp, dated 3 May 1763; William Findlay
sold to Samuel Findlay 26 February 1766.  Franklin DB 1:196.  Fendrick

1791 [date deed acknowledged], William Hunder of Air Twp, Bedford County,
PA, farmer, to Samuel Findlay, a tract of land in Peters Twp.  Franklin DB
4:131.  Fendrick Collection.

18 October 1796, Samuel Findlay will, probated 1 December 1804; land at
mouth of Loyal hannah in Westmoreland County; land in Northumberland County,
on waters of Stump Creek, not to be sold until son Nathan comes of age.
Niece Elizabeth Findley; 6 sons: John, William, James, Jonathan, Thomas and

21 January 1797, Alexander McConell of Washington County to Samuel Findlay
of Peters, situated in Peters joining Patrick Campbell, Robert Campbell,
Robert Hutcheson, William Harvey and Wm. Findlay; granted to Alexander

9 February 1797, William Speer of Huntingdon County, Mathew Wite and Fanny,
his wife of Allegany County, PA, only surviving heirs of Andrew Speer, late
of Cumberland, now Franklin County to Samuel Findlay of Franklin County,
warrant dated 4 June 1763 to Andrew Speer; land in Little Cove joining
Malcom McFall,

1 October 1797, John Findlay and wife Agnes of Peters, to Mary Brownson and
Nathen Brownson, her son, of same place.  Richard Brownson, late of Peters
died seized of certain lands in Peters, joining lands of Walter McKinnie,
James McKinnie and Samuel Findlay, situated on Conococheague Creek, died
intestate; land vested in children and legal heirs, subject to dower of
widow, Mary Brownson.  Agnes Findlay is legal heir of Richard Brownson.

1 October 1811, Nathan C. Finley of Zanesville, OH, merchant, releases his

31 December 1823, Thomas Finley of Baltimore, merchant, mortgaged to William
Findlay of Harrisburg, land which his late father, Samuel Fndlay, decd.,
