This Indenture made the third day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and ten, Between Joseph Culbertson, Junr. of Green
Township, Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania and Mary his wife of the
one part, and James Finley of the Township County and State aforesaid of the
other part, Witnesseth that the said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife for
and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and seven pounds two
shillings lawful money of the State aforesaid to them in hand will and truly
paid by the said James Finley at and before the unsealing and delivery
hereof, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and therewith being
fully satisfied, Have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, enscoffed and
confirmed and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely grant,
bargain and sell; alien, enscoff and confirm unto the said James Finley
heirs and Assigns, All that the hereafter described plantation or tract of
lands, situate lying and being in Letterkenny Township County and State
aforesaid, bounded and limited as follows, to with, Beginning at a stone set
for a corner and thence by lands of Frederick Hess and Abraham Resor, North
forty two degrees East, seventy two perches to a post, near a black Oak,
thence North forty seven degrees and an half degree East, seventy three
perches and an half perch to a post, thence by lands of George Besone, South
twenty four degrees East, twenty three perches to a post, thence by land of
the Heirs of John Finley and land of James Finley, South thirty seven
degrees West one hundred and twenty nine perches to a Black Oak to a post,
thence North sixty seven degrees West thirty one perches and an half perch
to a stone and thence by lands of Frederick Hess North forty six degrees
West, nine perches and an half perch to the place of Beginning, containing
twenty seven acres and allowance of six per Cent (proportionate for Roads)
be the same more or less being part of a tract of Land which the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by Patent bearing date the twenty ninth day of
December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy (?)
four, granted to John W. Conrad, said Patent being enrolled in the Rolls
office in Patent Book AA volume 15th Page 337 (357?) part of which by sundry
conveyances and transfers became the property of Abraham Resor and to Heirs
and Assigns forever, and the said Abraham Resor and Elizabeth his wife, by
Deeds Polls bearing date the sixth day of June Eighteen hundred and nine,
did Convey the same to Joseph Culbertson his Heirs and Assigns forever,
reference thereto being had will more fully ??? at large appear. Together
with all and singular the building and Improvements thereon made or erected;
profits, commodities, advantages, enhancements, Hereditaments and
Appurtenances, whatsoever to the said described plantation or tract of Land
belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions, remainders,
rents, issues and profits thereof; also, all the estate, right title,
interest, use possession, property, claim and demand, whatsoever of them the
Said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife in law, or equity, or otherwise
howsoever, of, in, to or out of the said described plantation or tract of
land belonging, or in any part thereof together with all true copies of
deeds, evidence and writings, touching and concerning the hereby granted
premises, or any part, or parcel thereof, to be had and taken at the costs
and charges of the said James Finley Heirs and Assigns, To have and to hold
the said plantation of tract of Land as above described and the premises
hereby granted, mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances, unto
the aforesaid James Finley heirs and assignees forever to and his and their
only proper use benefits and behoof and to ??? for no other use interest,
meaning or purpose whatsoever, And the said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his
wife for themselves and their Heirs, do covenant promise grant and agree to
and with the said James Finley Heirs and Assignees by these presents, that
they the said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife and their Heirs, the above
described plantation or piece of Land, hereby granted, bargained and sold
with the appurtenances unto the said James Finley his Heirs and Assignees
against them the said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife and their Heirs,
and against all and every person or persons whomsoever legally claiming or
to claim the same or any part thereof shall and with warrant and forever
defend the Taxes hereafter becoming due to Government only excepted. In
Testimony whereof the said Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife, have
hereunto set their hand and affixed their seals the say and year first above
written

Received on the day of the date of the above Indenture of the therein named
James Finley the sum of four hundred and seven pounds ten shillings in full,
for the consideration money above mentioned.

Franklin County. Be it remembered that on the third day of April Anno
Domini one thousand eight hundred and ten, Before me the subscriber, one of
the Justices of the peace in and for said County, personally appeared the
above named Joseph Culbertson and Mary his wife and acknowledged the above
Indenture to be their act and Deed to the intent, that as such, the same
might be recorded, according to law. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and affixed my seal the date above said.
