THIS INDENTURE made the fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety four Between Frederick Hesse of the
Township of Lurgan in the County of Franklin and State of Pennsylvania
Farmer and Catharine his wife of the one Part and Henry Rebuck of the same
Place Farmer of the other part Witnesseth that the said Frederick Hesse and
Catharine his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of four hundred and
seventy five Pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by the
said Henry Rebuck at and before the sealing and Delivery of these Presents
(the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) have granted bargained sold
aliened enscoffed released and confirmed and by these Presents Do grant
bargain sell alien enscoff release and confirm to the said Henry Rebuck his
heirs and assigns forever. ????? Messuage or Tenement Plantation and Tract
of Land situate in Lurgan Township aforesaid. Beginning at a marked Spanish
Oak Corner thence by Land of Charles Mackay the elder South eighty nine
Degrees East forty Perches to a white oak South thirty one degrees East two
Perches to a white oak and South eighty four degrees West? ninety three
Perches to an Hickory Thence by land of Charles Maclay the younger North
twenty eight degrees West seventy two Perches to a white oak North thirty
three degrees West thirty eight Perches to a white oak North twenty eight
degrees West ninety one perches to and Hickory south sixty two degrees West
three Perches to a Post and North twenty eight Degrees West seventy two
Perches to a Post thence by Land of Joseph Reed? North eighty two Degrees
and an half West fourteen Perches to a white oak thence by Land of Thomas
Dummeny? South three degrees and an half East two hundred and twenty eight
Perches and a quarter to the place of Beginning Containing ninety seven
Acres and one hundred and thirty one Perches and the usual allowance of six
p(er)cent for Roads vc It being the same tract of land which was surveyed
unto a certain John Barclay in purcuance of an order of Survey dated the
26th Day of May 1767 and numbered 3748 and which on the Decease of the said
John Barclay descended and came to Margaret his ??????? at Law, who
afterwards intermarried with a certain James Rankin and the said James
Rankin with the said Margaret his wife by ?????? bearing date the 20th Day
of October 1786 for the Consideration therein mentioned granted and conveyed
the same to a certain Andrew? Hamilton who by Indenture bearing Date the
eighteenth day of February 1787 for the Consideration therein mentioned
granted and conveyed the same to the said Frederick Hesse Together with all
and singular the Buildings and other Improvements thereon ????? and ????????
Ways Woods water Courses Rights Liberties Priviledges Hereditaments and
appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or any way appertaining and the
Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereto. And in the
????? right will ????? Property claim and Demand whatsoever either in Law or
equity of him the said Frederick Hesse and Catherine his wife of in to or
out of same To Have and to Hold the said Mesuage or Tenement Plantation and
Tract of Land Hereditaments and Premises hereby ????? or mentioned or
inte(n)ded so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Rebuck his
Heirs and assigns To the only proper use and Behoof of him the said Henry
Rebuck his Heirs and assigns forever And the said Frederick Hesse for him
and his heirs the aforesaid, Mesuage Plantation and Tract of Land and every
part therof with the appurtenances against him and his Heirs and against all
and every other Person and Persons whatsoever to the said Henry Rebuck his
Heirs and Assigns shall and will warrant and forever ?????????? And the said
Frederick Hesse for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators with
covenant promise and grant to and with the said Henry Rebuck his heirs and
Assigns that he the said Frederick Hess hath ????? Rights full power and
lawful and absolute authority to grant and convey the aforesaid Messuage or
Tenement Plantation & Tract of Land and will ???? thereof with the
appurtenances unto and to the use of the said Henry Rebuck his heirs and
assigns in manner ??????. In Witness whereof the said ????? to these
presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals dated the
day and year first above written.
