THIS INDENTURE made the Sixth Day of April in the Year of our Lord One
thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty two BETWEEN John Finley of the Township of
Letterkenny in the County of Cumberland and State of Pennsylvania Farmer &
Mary his Wife of the one part and Joseph Finley of the Same Place Son of the
said John and Mary Finley of the other Part WITNESSETH that the said John
Finley and Mary his Wife as well for and in Consideration of the natural
Love and Affection which they have and do bear unto their said Son Joseph
Finley as also for the better Maintenance Support Livelyhood and Preferment
of him the said Joseph Finley and for and in Consideration of the sum of
Five Shillings Specie to them in hand paid by the said Joseph Finley at and
before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof they
do hereby acknowledge HAVE given granted aliened enscoffed and confirmed and
by these Presents DO give grant alien enscoff and confirm to the said Joseph
Finley his Heirs and Assigns A Certain Messuage or Tenement Plantation and
Tract of Land situate in the Township of Lurgan in the County of Cumberland
aforesaid Bounded by the following to wit. BEGINNING at a Marked Spanish Oak
Thence by Land of Peter Shoff North Sixty nine Perches and an half to a
Marked Black Oak North Sixteen Degrees and an half East forty eight Perches
to a Marked White Oak North forty eight Degrees East forty one Perches and
an half to a marked White Oak North fifty four Degrees West seventy seven
Perches to a Marked White Oak and North eighty five Degrees East Eighty two
Perches to a marked Spanish Oak Thence by Land of John Williamson North
thirty five Degrees West Ninety six Perches to a Post Thence by Land of
Thomas McComb North eighty seven Degrees West sixty eight Perches to a
Marked Black Oak North fifty six Degrees and an half West eighty three
Perches and an half to a Marked White Oak and SouthWest one hundred and
fifty one Perches to a marked Spanish Oak Thence by Land of Malcolm McComb
South five Degrees East fifty three Perches to a marked Black Oak Thence by
Land of Jeremiah Peircell South fifty Degrees East seventy Perches to a
marked White Oak North Eighty seven Degrees East forty three Perches to a
marked Hickory South forty four Degrees East forty five Perches to a marked
White Oak South thirty seven Degrees East forty Perches to a marked Locust
standing on a Stream of Water called Herrans Branch Thence up the said
Branch on the several Courses thereof sixty four Perches and an half to
another marked Locust Thence South thirty three Degrees East one hundred and
twenty Perches to a Post Thence by Land late of Jacob Miller North forty
Degrees East thirty one Perches to a marked Black Oak North three Degrees
West four Perches and three Quarters to a marked Hickory North seventy three
Degrees East thirty Perches to a marked Black Oak and south eighty seven
Degrees East thirty five Perches and a quarter to the Place of BEGINNING
Containing Four hundred and six Acres sixteen Perches and the usual
allowance of six Acres p Cent for Roads and High Ways (It being the same
Tract of Land which the late Proprietaries of Pennsylvania by their Warrant
bearing Date the 15 Day of Decembr. 1752 granted to the said John
Finley).......TOGETHER with all and singular the Buildings Improvements Ways
Woods Waters Water Courses Rights Liberty Priviledges Hereditaments and
Appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging and in any wise appertaining
and the Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof And all
the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him
the said John Finley and Mary his Wife or either of them of in to or out of
the same TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Messuage or Tenement Plantation and
Tract of Land Hereditaments and Premisses hereby Granted or mentioned and
intended so to be with the Appurtenances unto the said Joseph Finley his
Heirs and Assigns To the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said Joseph
Finley his Heirs and Assigns forever Subject to the payment of the Residue
of the Purchase Money and Interest thereon due and to become due for the
same and now payable to the State of Pennsylvania IN WITNESS whereof the
said Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands
and Seals Dated the Day and Year first above written.

Be it Remembered that on the Sixth Day of April in the
Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty two Before me the
Subscriber, One of the Justices of the Peace and Common Pleas for the County
aforesaid, Came the above named John Finley and Mary his Wife and
Acknowledged the above Instrument of Writing to be their Act and Deed, to
the Intent the same may be Recorded; the said Mary thereunto voluntarily
consenting, being apart by me examined, and the Contents of the said Writing
being fully made known to her. IN TESTIMONY whereof I have hereunto set my
Hand and affixed my Seal the Day and Year aforesaid.
