THIS INDENTURE made the Twelfth day of June in the Year of our Lord one
Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy two, BETWEEN Robert McCulley of Augusta
Township in Northumberland County in Province of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth
his Wife of the one Part, and Thomas Finley of the Town of Carlisle in
County of Cumberland and Province Aforesaid of the other Part. WITNESSETH
that the said Robert McCulley and Elizabeth his Wife for and in
Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pounds good and lawful money of
Pennsylvania to them in Hand well and truly Paid by the said Thomas Finley
at or before the Execution hereof, the Receipt and Payment whereof is hereby
Acknowledged & themselves therewith fully Sattisfyed. HAVE Granted,
Bargained, Sold, Aliened, Enscoffed, Released, and Confirmed, and by these
Presents they do, & Each of them doth Grant, Bargain, Sell, Alien, Release,
and Confirm unto the said Thomas Finley his Heirs and Assigns for ever, a
Certain Messuage House and lot of Ground Situate on the South side of
Lowther Street and the West side of Houwe Street in the Town of Carlisle in
Cumberland County afforesaid which doth Contain in Front of Lowther Street
afforesaid Sixty feet, and two Hundred and Forty feet deep Bounded by Howe
Street to a Twenty feet Alley, & Bound on the West by a Proprietaries Lot
Number three Hundred and two, which lot is Numbered in the General Plan of
said Town, three Hundred and ten, and was first Granted to a Certain James
Killgore which Lot the said James did grant and Convey unto the above named
Robert McCulley by a Certain Instrument of Writing bearing date the Eight
day of June which was in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and
Sixty four, Together also with all & Singular the Buildings, Improvements,
Houses, Out-Houses, Barns, Stables, Gardens, Fences, Woods, Waters,
Watercourses, Commons, Pastures, Rights, Members, Privileges, Advantages,
Hereditaments and Premisses with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining, and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and
Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits there and all the Estate Right, Title,
Interest, Property, Claim and Demand Whatsoever both at Law and in Equity of
them the said Robert McCulley and Elizabeth his wife of, in, to or out-of
the same and every Part & Parcel thereof, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the afforesaid
Messuage House and lot of Ground hereby granted or Mentioned or Intended to
be Granted with the Appurtenances unto the said Thomas Finley his heirs and
Assigns, to the only Proper use Benefit and Behoof of him the said This.
Finley and to his Heirs and Assigns, FOREVER, subject to and under the
Quit-rent or Ground-rent due or that Shall become due to the Chief Lord or
Lords of the fee thereof for the same. AND the said Robert McCulley for
himself and for the said Elizabeth his wife and their Heirs, DOTH hereby
Covenant, Promise, Grant, and agree to and with the said This. Finley his
Heirs and Assigns by these Presents, that he the said Robert McCulley and
Elizabeth his wife and their Heirs the above mentioned Bounded and Described
House and Lot of ground with Appurtenances unto the said Thomas Finley his
Heirs and Assigns from and against them the said Robert McCulley and
Elizabeth his Wife and their Heirs, and from and against all and every other
Person or Persons whomsoever lawfully Claiming or to Claim the same and
every Part and Parcel thereof shall and will Warrant and forever defend by
these Presents the Honourable the Proprietaries for their dues only
excepted, IN WITNESS whereof the said Robert McCulley and Elizabeth his Wife
have hereunto set their Hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first
above Written

Cumberland County. Be it Remembered that on Thirteenth day of June Anno
Domini 1772. Before me the Subscriber one of his Majesties Justices of the
Peace for County afsd. Came the within named Robert McCulley and Elizabeth
his Wife and Acknowledged the within Indenture to be their act and Deed, and
desired the same to be Recorded as Such, The said Elizabeth being examined
by me apart & separate from her said Husband and the Contents of Within
Indenture made known unto her did acknowledge that she Executed the Same
Voluntarily and of her own Record Without any force, Threats, Compulsion, or
Restraint of her said Husband or any Other Person or Persons whatsoever.
