THIS INDENTURE made this twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord one
Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty Eight Between Samuel Finley of Bedford in
Cumberland County Surveyor of the one part & George Glassford of the County
Aforesaid yeoman of the other part WITNESS that Whereas Samuel Finley by
Virtue of a Certain Proprietary Warrant to him granted tested at
Philadelphia the first day of June in the year one thousand Seven hundred &
Sixty two became seized and possessed of in and to a Certain Tract of Land
including any Improvement in Lack Township Containing two hundred & four
Acres & one hundred and three perches with the Usual Alowance a Draugt of
which land was Sent to the Surveyor Generals office and is as follows that
is to say Beginning at a white oak tree South Thirty five degrees East one
hundred & two perches to a white oak thence South fifty Degrees West one
hundred & Seven perches to a White Oak Thence South thirteen degrees East
thirty seven perches to a white Oak thence South sixty degrees West two
hundred & Eighteen perches to a post thence North one hundred and Thirty one
perches to a white oak thence North fifty & three Quarter Degrees East two
hundred and Sixty four perches to the place of Beginning Joining Andrew
Johnsons on the West Barren hills on the South John M Donalds land on the
North West and Vacant Barrens on the North East NOW THIS INDENTURE
WITNESSETH that the said Samuel Finley for and in Consideration of the
Natural Affection he hath and Beareth unto the said George Glassford & Rose
Glassford his Wife said Finley Sister hath given Granted Mined(?) Unleassed
& Confirmed & by these presents doth give grant Allien (?) & Confirm unto
the said George Glassford for & During his Natural Life all and Singular his
Right Title Interest Property Claim & Demand of in and to the said before
Described Tract of Land & Premisses with all and Singular its Rights Members
& Appurtenances as fully & amply to all Intents Constructions & Purposes as
he the said Finley now hold and Enjoys the same & the said Samuel Finley for
him his heirs & assigns doth further Covenant & agree to and with the said
George Glassford his heirs & Assigns that the said Glassford Shall not nor
will not Sell Mortgage or Convey his Right or Title in the said Premisses or
any part or Parcel thereof to any person or persons Whatsoever without the
Concurance & Special Leave of said Finley but that the Reversion &
Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues & Profits thereof or
therefrom Accruing shall be and Remain to the Eldest son of the said George
Glassford lawfully Begotten or to be begotten of the Body of the said Rose
Glassford with a good & Sufficient Maintenance thereout to the said Rose
Glassford wife of the said George Glassford during her life in Case she
should Survive her said husband & it is further Agreed upon by & between the
parties aforesaid that the said Premisses Shall be had and Deemed to be the
Real Estate of the first Son and heir at Law in (?) Male & as such to
Descend to the first & every other son in (?) and for want of such issue
then to Devolve to the next of kin who shall be Judged heir at Law TO HAVE
AND TO HOLD the said Premisses and every part thereof with all its
Advantages Easements Emoluments & Appurtenances to the said George Glassford
& his heirs under and Subject to the Provisions aforesaid forever without
the (?) such Trouble, Molestation or Eviction of him the said Samuel
Finley his heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns or any other person
Claiming or to Claim by from or under him them or any of them the Honourable
the Propriataries only Excepted anything herein Contained to the Contrary
Notwithstanding IN WITNESS the parties aforesaid have hereunto set their
hand & Seals the Day and year first above Written Signed Sealed &
Delivered in Presence of William Trindle Junr. James Lamb William Trindle Senr.

CAME before me the Subscriber one of his Majesties Justices of
Peace for said County the above Named Samuel Finley said Acknowledged the
above Deed to be his Act & Deed and Desired it may be Recorded Accordingly
