This Indenture made the first day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and sixty eight Between John Finley of the Township
of Letterkenny in the County of Cumberland in the province of Pennsylvania
Farmer and Mary his wife of the one part and James Finley of the same place
farmer Son of the said John & Mary of the other part Witnesseth that the
said John Finley and Mary his wife as will for and in consideration of the
natural love and affection which they have and do bear unto their said Son
James Finley and for the better maintenance support livelihood and
preferment of him the said James as also for and in consideration of the sum
of five shillings lawful money of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by the
said James Finley the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have given
granted bargained sold alienee enscoffed released and confirmed and by these
presents Do give grant bargain sell alien enscoff release and confirm unto
the said James Finley his heirs and assigns A certain messuage or tenement
Plantation or tract of Land situate lying and being in Letterkenny Township
in the County of Cumberland aforesaid bounded by the following lines to with
Beginning at a marked hickery in aline of Josiah Rammage's Land thence by
the same South Forty eight degrees West twenty four perches to a black oak,
in the same line thence by Land of James Robinson the five several courses
and distances next following to wit with forty six degrees West sixty three
perches to an hickory north sixty four degrees and a half west one hundred
and fifty four perches and a half to a black oak, North twenty three degrees
West seventy one perches and an half to a white oak north seventy two
degrees and three quarters West fifty two perches to a post and South thirty
seven degrees West sixty seven perches to an hickery in a line of said
Robinsons Land thence by Samuel Culbertsons Land South sixty six degrees and
a quarter West fifty seven perches to a Black oak thence by the same north
thirty four degrees West ninety eight perches to a post thence by James
Fultons Land South sixty six degrees and a half East thirty one perches to a
Stump thence by the same north thirty nine degrees and an half east twenty
eight perches and an half to a white oak thence by other Land of the said
John Finley the following Courses and distances to wit South seventy two
degrees East one hundred and five perches and an half to a post, South sixty
eight degrees east ninety perches to a post north thirty eight degrees & a
half East thirty seven perches to a pool South sixty six degrees and an half
east eighty nine perches to a Hickory, and South twenty seven degrees East
two hundred & four perches to the place of Beginning. Containing two
hundred & eight acres and the usual ??? of six ??? of Land for Roads &
highways being part of a tract of Land which John Kerr sold and by an
Instrument of Writing bearing date the twenty second day of April 1763
conveyed to John Finley party hereto. Together with all and singular the
ways waters water courses woods rights ??? privelidges hereditaments and
appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and
the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the
estate right title interest property claim or demand whatsoever either in
law or equity of him the said John Finley and Mary his wife of in or to the
same and all warrants deeds evidences and writings concerning the said
premises now in the hands or possession of the said John Finley or which he
may get or come by without said in Law or equity. To have and to hold all
and singular the premises hereby given and granted or mentioned or intended
so to be with the appurtenances unto the said James Finley his heirs and
assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said James Finley his
heirs and assigns for ever, Subject to the purchase money Interest and quit
rent now doe or to become due and payable to the chief Lord or Lords of the
fee thereof. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have
here unto interchangeably set their hands and seals dated the day and year
first above written.

Cumberland County Be it remembered that on the first day of April in the
year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & sixty eight before me and
acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed and
desired the same may be recorded as such the said Mary thereunto voluntarily
consenting she being of full age severlly & apart by me examined and the
contents of the said writing being distinctly read to her In Testimony
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year above said
Received the day of the date of the within Indenture from the within named
James Finley the Sum of five Shillings it being the full consideration money
within mentioned we say recd by us
