Wayne Independent Dec. 1944
The pupils
of the Long Ridge school, under the supervision of their teacher, Mrs.
Mary Sartori, presented a very pleasing Christmas program Friday afternoon,
Dec 22, when the school closed for the holiday vacation. The program
consisted of recitations and musical numbers by the following: Nancy
Cron, William Haesche, Thelma Frisbie, Wanda Schutz, Wayne Schutz, Shirley
Cron, Louis Grubber, Roland Soloman, Gerald Kyser, William Haesche,
Vincent Quick, George Haesche, & Herbie Hirsch. Parents and friends
were present to enjoy the program.
Reunion
A reunion of students of the
Long Ridge school was held July 9, 1983 at Lucans Farm Resort.
The
oldest living student was Marvin Schutz who began his schooling in 1901. Retired
teachers present were Miss Eugenia Spall and Miss Mary McCarthy. Former
teachers, Mrs Irene Beilman Beemer and Mrs Mary Kearney Sartori were
unable to attend. Former students attending were Leona Bartlow

Minnie Kauntz Dauster, Florence Klenck Piercy, Evelyan Kellerman Hill,
Harry Kowalchick, Anna Kowalchick Miller, Pete Kowalchick, Charles Kowalchick,
Olga Kowalchick, Helen Laabs, Pauline Laabs Ehwald, Rena Laabs McLain, Florence
Laabs Weidner, Katherine Mosher Swingle, Norman Mosher, Ted Mosher,
Margaret Mosher Lee, Stanley Mosher, John Majba, Marvin Schutz, Carrie
Schutz Krause, William Schutz, Wayne Schutz, Wanda Schutz Sheridan,
