I am looking for information on my great-grandfather Adam Charles Staub, father of my grandfather George Loncard (?) Staub. Grandpa always talked about "Little Washington, and Amity, PA"

If you could just point me in the right direction I would be so grateful. My Mom is 85 now and she has never known the family history and I would love to provide some info to her.

INFORMATION FROM MY LOOK-UP SEARCHES
My searches were limited to US Federal Census.

I think you have a missing generation between George, son of Adam.... and George L. son of ????? The 2 are born about 40 yrs apart.

I have some text info (below) that summarizes the Census (names, ages). You'll see where I encounter the problems.

I searched also for Staub + no first name... there are more than 12 pages of results for PA. In SW PA, most are in Washington Co, Allegheny Co & Greene Co. There is a Mary L. Staub in the same vicinity -- possibly widow with kids-- same time frame. Otherwise, Staub names appear a lot in Adams Co and east to Philadelphia.

Ok, I don't know dates or ins & outs of family names, but little 8 yr old George of 1850 Census never appears again.

There is a George L. but he's born MUCH later, in 1882 ! So who is your George's father?
Is it possible a relative took him in after 1850? 

There is a generation missing between what you gave, and the following Geo. L. Staub.
Who might the missing generation be-- first name???
Are the Jacksons related to Staub, or was Geo. L. a boarder?

I even tried searching for NO first name + Staub. 
Both George b, 1842 and George L. b. 1882 show up only one time EACH.

I would say you have a missing generation in here. Geo. L is only 18 in 1900-- the 2 are not the same - so different parents = missing generation.
