JOHN A. DONEY
Monongahela, Pa., June 28--- John Alphonse DONEY,life-long local resident, died at his home, 780 Cassidy avenue.
He would have been (97 ??) years old on Wednesday, the day when a requiem mass will be celebrated at the Church
of the Transfiguration by the Reverend Patrick W. RICE, his pastor.
Mr. DONEY was born June 24, 1876 at Wheeling, W.Va., coming with his parents, the late Michael and Mary K___ DONEY, to ____ city when he was
a child of about three. He was educated in the local schools. Three years ago he was retired after 25 years of employment as a blacksmith for Combustion Engineering Company at the East Monongahela plant. He was a faithful member of
Transfiguration church.
Surviving ate two daughters, Mary Kathryn, wife of Clarence A. DEWAR, at home, and Lillian, wife of Andrew CAIRNS of California, Pa.; two sons, Charles DONEY of Clearview Terrace, and William J. Gottselig of this city; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Peter AMANN of Monessen [Pa.] and Mrs. John Armstrong of Clarksburg, Pa.; one brother,
Charles DONEY of Mather, Pa. Mrs. DONEY, the former Emma NEIDERMEYER whom he married in 1920 died Hune 15, 1950.
