Sheriff's Sale - ... taken at the suit of James Wishart  ---- to be sold by R. Officer... 12-17-1821

NOTE: These notices usually had a date after it, for the date the notice or advertisement was placed.  Sometimes there is a letter/number "code" also, presumably for use by the newspaper office to keep files of subscribers placing the notice/ad (?).   A "code" might be "T-d1" or other such combinations.

R. Officer is probably Robert Officer.

Local Glances -  Capt. Alexander Wishart of Pittsburgh, visited our public schools on Thursday.  Among the pupils, he found many whose parents he had taught in the same rooms 20 years ago.
