Miscellaneous Info on various families not necessarily from Washington County PA

Folks often place notices of items for sale on Message boards, but the posts are considered "commercial" and are removed /deleted as "commercial/spam."  So those posts are often not seen by the public.

I'm saving posts I see before they get deleted.  Whatever genealogical information the post had contained, I will place here (so at least the info can be found).  If you see an Ebay item with genie info included, or see a message board posting, you can send it to me and I will extract the info and put it here.

***NOTE*** This will not be used as a commercial site.  NO information will be included about sellers or how to contact sellers -- nor will I keep that information.  [So, no, I cannot put you in touch with the poster or seller.]  I am only providing a place for the genealogical information that is otherwise lost when posts are deleted... or when sales on an auction site ends.

ITEM 1:

[the poster had] purchased an old studio photograph of "Thomas Denman" from an antique dealer, who had purchased it and others from a man cleaning out OLD photo files about 40 years ago, from a Boston newspaper office. I enjoy rescuing lovely old pictures like these from antique shops...

The description on the photo is "Thomas Denman (1874 - ---), Lord in Waiting to King George and Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords"." A typewritten note shows that "Lord Denman was "3rd Baron, served in Boer and World Wars; was governor general of Australia (1911-1914)".

The portrait was taken in about the 1920 era, by my guess, give or take a few years. The picture is itself 4-1/4" x 6-1/2", and mounted on a heavy cardboard frame as was typical during that time period. It is in good condition and is an original. The photo was taken by a professional photographer named P. S. Rogers, 313 W. 40th St., New York City.

Lord Denman has on a three piece suit, and has medium dark hair and a mustache. He looks to be about mid 40's. .....
