Mary was the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Jenkins) Nelson and the widow of John R. (“Jack”)
Lascelles, who perished in the 1908 Marianna mine disaster.
Will Book 27, p 109
I, Mary Lascelles, widow, of Monongahela City, Pa., do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath all my household goods and furnishings to my daughter, Elizabeth Ambrose absolutely.
I direct my executrix hereinafter named to sell all my real estate either at public or private sale, at such time, and for such prices and on such terms as she shall deem for the best interests of my estate, and for such purpose I give her full power and authority to convey the same as fully and completely as I could do if living.
Until such sale shall be made my home place shall be used as a home for the benefit of all my children and after a sale of my real estate, I give and bequeath the proceeds arising therefrom to my three children, Elizabeth Ambrose, William Lascelles, and George Lascelles, in equal shares, absolutely.
All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, of every kind and nature, I give devise and bequeath to my three children above named in equal shares, absolutely.
I hereby constitute and appoint my daughter, Elizabeth Ambrose, as sole executrix of this my last will.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Mary Lascelles as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who in her presence, at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. [signed] Margaret Foster, Carl E. Gibson
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Washington County, ss:
Be it remembered, That upon this 30th day of June 1913, before me, Boyd C. Parshall, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration within and for said county, came Margaret Foster and Carl E. Gibson, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing attached Will of Mary Lascelles, deceased, who after being duly qualified according to law, depose and say: That they were present at the execution of the Will - saw the testatrix sign the same - heard her publish it as and for her last Will and Testament; that they, at her request, in her presence, and in the presence of each other, subscribed their names thereto as witnesses; and at the time of the doing thereof the said testatrix was of sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of the affiants' knowledge and belief. Sworn and subscribed before me, Boyd C. Parshall, Register.
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Washington County, ss:
Personally appeared before me Boyd C. Parshall, Register for the Probate of Wills, Etc., in and for the County of Washington Elizabeth Ambrose who after being duly qualified according to law, deposes and says, that Mary Lascelles late of Monongahela City died on the 25th day of June 1913 between the hours of 1 and 2 o'clock, P.M. And now, June 30, 1913, it being adjudged that said Will has been duly proved, Letters are issued to Elizabeth Ambrose in said testament named, [who] was duly qualified. Boyd C.
