This indenture made the twenty-ninth day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three between Benjamin Kenney of the County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth, his wife, of the one part, and Arthur Donaldson of the County and State aforesaid of the other part.
Whereas a certain John Dingee by deed bearing date the 7th day of the 4th month 1819 conveyed a certain tract of land situated in the said County adjoining lands of John Riley, Jesse Bell, Ebenezer Mayor and others containing 133¼ acres to a certain John Cleaver who hath caused a part of said land on each side of the National Turnpike road to be laid off in town lots which are respectively numbered as by the general plat of said town called “Centerville” will appear and Whereas the said John Cleaver by deed bearing date the 17th day of the 4th month 1822 conveyed unto the aforesaid Benjamin Kenney a certain lot in the said town of Centerville designated on the plan thereof by No. 11 of which transfers a more perfect knowledge may be had by having recourse to the office for recording of deeds in the said County.
Now this indenture, Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Kenney and Elizabeth, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty-three dollars to them in hand paid by the said Arthur Donaldson, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released, confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, and confirm unto the said Arthur Donaldson and to his heirs and assigns, forever all the said recited lot of ground in the town of Centerville designated and known in the general plan of said town by No. 11 fronting on Main Street sixty feet and extending along 2nd East Street one hundred and twenty-seven feet to Prospect Alley and adjoining lot No. 9, containing seven thousand six hundred and twenty square feet, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging.
To have and to hold the said No. eleven with the premises and appurtenances to the said Arthur Donaldson, his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Arthur Donaldson, his heirs and assigns, forever to whom the said Benjamin Kenney and Elizabeth, his wife, their heirs, executors, and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend against all claims whatsoever.
