George Veness 1833 - 1908
George Veness, a life-long resident of Sugar Grove, died at 11 a. m. Thursday aged about 75 years. He was a highly respected citizen. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Prude Veness, a son, C. L. Veness and a daughter Miss Catherine Veness all of Sugar Grove. The funeral will be held from the residence on Saturday at 11 a.m.

[Warren County coordinator's note: Wife Prudence was born in 1839 and died in 1916; both are buried in the Cherry Hill cemetery in Sugar Grove Township. Son Clyo L. Veness, born 1868, died in 1939. He and wife Caroline are also buried in the same cemetery.]
