Union County was created from Northumberland
County on 22 March 1813.
Welcome to the Union County PAGenWeb Project.
Purpose
The purpose of this site is to provide tools for the
genealogist and family historian researching primary and
secondary documentary materials. These tools include necessary
historical and geographical background material needed for
research, as well as respositories and the kinds of primary and
secondary resource materials that are available.
Limitations
While the Internet provides much material for research, it
must be remembered that all transcribed material, whether on the
Internet or published, is secondary source material,
statistically more prone to error than primary materials. The
Internet, and this site, has limitations for proper researching
and documentation of genealogical research. For further
information about how to use the Internet for accurate research,
consult the National Genealogical Society's Standards For
Use Of Technology In Genealogical Research.
Finding Source Material
Because the focus of this site is limited, the researcher will
find transcriptions and other secondary resource materials in the
Union County
PAGenWeb Archives, part of the USGenWeb and PAGenWeb
projects. Materials transcribed and available elsewhere on the
Internet are listed on the Links
page.
