Levi Richard Hunsinger, 93, a Valley resident for 30 years, died Friday morning at 1:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Bird, Sayre RD 2.
Mr. Hunsinger was born in Forks Township, Sullivan County on June 5, 1855. He came to the Valley about 30 years ago after the death of his wife, Mary Ann, in Dushore. A member of the Lutheran Church, Dushore, Mr. Hunsinger was farmer all his life.
Survivors include: Two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Bird, Sayre RD 2 Mrs. Charles Karge , Dushore; two sons, William Hunsinger West Danby, N.Y. and John Hunsinger, Athens 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday from the home of his son John Bird of Athens. Rev. Robert A.F. Macaskill, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, Athens officiated. Interment in Peace cemetery in Cherry township.

Mrs. Mary Ann Hunsinger of Forks Township died at the Packer hospital at Sayre Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1, following an operation.
The remains were brought to her late home Monday.
She is survived by her husband two sons and two daughters.
Funeral services were held at Peace church Wednesday morning Rev. W.H. Fehr officiating.

Mrs. Rebecca T. Bird 87, of RD 2 Sayre, passed away Sunday morning after a short illness.
Born in Dushore she lived in the Valley for 45 years. She was the widow of Joseph Bird who died in 1956 and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dushore.
Surviving are a son, Howard, at home and four grandchildren, Mrs. Charlotte Tappan of Sayre; Mrs. Barbara Collins of Waverly, N.Y.Y. Victor Bird, of Appalachian, N.Y. and Theodore Bird with the U.S. Air Force in North Carolina; two brothers, John Hunsinger of Athens and William Hunsinger, of West Danby, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lowery Funeral Home in Athens. Rev. Arthur Kleintop, pastor of the Sayre Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.

Joseph H. Bird, 82, of Elmira Street, Sayre RD 2, died Thursday morning at his home after an extended illness.
He was born in Overton and has lived in Athens Township for 36 years.
Surviving him are his wife, Rebecca, a daughter Ms. Charles Jenney of Sayre RD 2; a son, Howard of Sayre RD 2 three brothers, Delbert of Muncy, George of Owego, and Edgar of Overton two grandsons, Theodore and Victor Bird; two granddaughters, Mrs. James Collins, and Mrs. James Tappan, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Lowery Funeral home the Rev. Donald Gebert pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sayre. Interment in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luther Mills.

Lawrence H. Bird, 51, of Sayre, Rd 2, died at his home Wednesday after a short illness.
He was born in Dushore and has been a resident of the 'valley for the past 30 years.
He has been employed by the Athens plant of Ingersoll-Rand for 11 years, was an active member and past master of Rural Amity Lodge No. 770, F. & A. M., a Knights Templar. Amity Arch Chapter, and Northern Council, Royal and Select Masters; neighborhood commissioner of General Sullivan Council of Boy scouts of America and a member of the Athens Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife, Ida Bird; one son, Victor R. Bird of Greenwich, Conn.; his parents, Mr. And Mrs.: Joseph Bird of RD 2, Sayre; a sister, Mrs. Charles Jenny and a brother, Howard, of RD 2, Sayre.
The body was taken to the Lowery funeral home, 225 South Main Street, Athens, and will be taken to the family home tomorrow where friends may call after 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon until 11 o'clock Saturday morning.
Saturday the body was taken to the Athens Methodist church where services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Mrs. Bertha May Jenney, 47, of Herrick Avenue, Sayre, died in the Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira Friday night, June 3, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Jenney was born in Dushore but had been a resident of Sayre RD 2 all of her life. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sayre.
Surviving are her husband, Charles R. Jenney; two daughters, Mrs. James Tappan and Mrs. James Collins, both of Sayre; her mother Ms. Joseph Bird of Sayre RD 2, and one brother, Howard Bird of Sayre RD 2 two grandsons and two nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Lowery Funeral Home in Athens Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Rev. John M. Scherch, pastor of the Lutheran church in Sayre, officiated and interment was in the Bradford Count Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.

Charles R. Jenney, 52, Sayre RD 2, died at Tioga General Hospital, Waverly, N.Y., Saturday afternoon after a short illness. He was born in Smithfield Township, and had lived in this area all his life.
He was employed by the Bridge Structural Ornamental and Iron Workers of Elmira, Local 436. He belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1490, Waverly, The Honest Horse Thieves of Athens, and Monroeton Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Alvera, two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Collins and Mrs. Charlotte Tappan, both of Sayre; six stepchildren, Mrs. Donna Peter Paul of Sayre, Connie, Alvera, George, Diana and Edward, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Mayme Jenney of Milan; two brothers, Robert and Harold Jenney of Athens; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Schickler, Mrs. Beatrice Case, both of Rochester, Mrs. Lois Pratt of Towanda and Mrs. Lola Fice of Waverly RD; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The body was removed to Lowery Funeral Home 225 S. Main Street, Athens, where the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2, the Rev. Oren Williams, pastor of the Milan Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park.

James F. Tappan, 55, of Herrick Avenue, Sayre, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 1990, at Robert Packer Hospital following a short illness. Born Nov. 11, 1935, in Sayre, he was the son of Charles and Marion Gromlick Tappan.
A lifelong resident of the Valley, Mr. Tappan was currently employed with International Foodstock Exchange Corporation in Waverly. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Waverly Lodge No. 1490 and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, at home; a son, Douglas of Athens; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Luveral Covey of Johnson City; and Mrs. Sharon Covaric of Waverly; three brothers, Leo, Lee and Ronald, all of Waverly; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles (Pete) Tappan and a granddaughter, Tara Lynn Tappan.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 S. Main St. Athens, with Rev. William Wells, pastor of the North Waverly Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens. Memorials may be directed to the North Waverly Chapel.

Mrs. Sarah A. Karge aged 78, of Dushore RD died at her home early Monday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Karge was born Oct. 10, 1880 in Forks Township, the daughter of Levi and Mariann Sayman Hunsinger. She was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, and is survived by twos sons, Ralph Karge of Dushore and Carl Sherman of Towanda; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Reese of Athens and Mrs. Francis Richley of Dushore 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brother's John Hunsinger of Athens and William Hunsinger of Ithaca a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Bird of Sayre. Mrs. Karge was the widow of Charles Karge. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Holcombe funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Slusser officiating. Interment was in Peace cemetery. Pallbearers were Lewis Dieffenbach, Arthur Epler, Joseph Farrell, Arthur McMahon, Fred Sayman and Leo J. Sick.

Charles W. Karge, 71, died suddenly at his home on Dushore RD early Monday morning. Though unwell for some time, Mr. Karge had been about as usual and his death was unexpected. On Sunday he attended church services and was about during the day. Born at Ringdale on May 19, 1883, he was the son of George and Hannah Dohm Karge. Mr. Karge was a prominent farmer and was well known throughout the county. A former Cherry Township tax collector and school director, he also was a rural mail carrier in the area for a number of years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Dushore.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Hunsinger Karge; a son, Ralph, of Dushore RD; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Reeser of Sayre and Mrs. Francis Richley of Dushore. 16 grandchildren four brothers, Frank of Rochester, John of Sunbury, Ernest of Chicago and Walter of Ringdale; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Hess of Muncy valley, Mrs. Ida Pratt of Rochester and Mrs. Harry Hunsinger of Dushore. Prayer services were held at the Holcombe Funeral Home this afternoon at 1:45 o'clock, followed at 2 o'clock by further services at Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Charles A. Souders officiated and burial was in Peace cemetery.

Carl S. Sherman, 74, of North Rome, died June 18, 1981, shortly after being admitted to Memorial Hospital, Towanda. Born August 15, 1906 in Forks township, Sullivan County, he spent his early years there, where he attended school. Mr. Sherman was employed in mines and lumber mills in Sullivan Co and worked in Elmira for a short time as a taxi driver. He moved to Towanda in 1953 and shortly afterward, he entered the employ of Perry Chevrolet. Mr. Sherman later worked at Dave Snell's Chrysler Plymouth agency prior to his retirement in 1973. For the last 20 years, Mr. Sherman operated a gun shop at his home.
He married the former Evelyn Beaver in Dushore in 1924. She died in 1979. He was a member of the Rome Presbyterian Church, the Bridge Street Hill Rifle and Pistol Club, and the Pine Cradle Lake Archery Club. His chief hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence Sherman, Burlington, four daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Elsie) Fassett, New Albany, Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Rohe, Dushore, Mrs. Ivan (Clara) Weaver Towanda, and Mrs. Albert (Regina) Carrington, Wysox; a brother, Ralph Karge, Dushore; two sisters, Mrs. Everett (Fluetta) Reeser, Athens, and Mrs. Francis (Mildred) Richley, Dushore; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 20 from Towanda. Interment was in Peace Cemetery, Dushore.

Evelyn P. (Beaver) Sherman, 72, of Wysox RD 2 died Friday morning at Towanda Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past year. She was born June 18, 1906 in Lopez the daughter of the late Theodore and Maria Beaver. She spent her early years in the Lopez area. She married Carl Sherman in 1924 and resided in the Dushore area. They moved to North Rome nine years ago. She was a member of the Rome Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband Carl of Wysox RD 2; one son Lawrence of Burlington; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Elsie) Fassett of New Albany RD 2, Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Rohe of Dushore RD 2, Mrs. Irvin (Clara) Weaver of Towanda RD 5, Mrs. Albert (Regina) Carrington of Wysox RD 2; three brothers, William Beaver, Mildred, Reuben of Elmira, Theodore of Bernice; one sister, Mrs. Laura Cosa of Pennbroke Pines, Fla; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Archer-Miller-McCloskey Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry L. Ferguson, pastor of the Rome Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Peace Cemetery, Dushore.

Ernest "Jr." Fassett, Jr., age 79 of Overton, New Albany RR, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness.
Ernest was born in Sayre, on April 2, 1927, a son of the late Ernest and Pearl McCarty Fassett Sr. He was a veteran, and had served in the US Army during WWII.
He lived most of his life in the New Albany area. Ernest owned his own logging company for most of his life and enjoyed the outdoors. Ernest married Elsie E. Sherman and together they raised five children: Lee and (Patricia) Fassett of Evergreen, PA, Jean Fassett of Dushore, Pa., Larry and (Jackie) Fassett, of Overton Pa., Laura Fassett and (Bill Johnson) of Wyalusing, and Debra Fassett of Elizabethtown, Pa. He also leaves a surviving brother Harry Fassett, of Rome and three sisters Betty Bardell, of Harrisburg, Marge Bahr, of Montoursville, and Norma Beeman of Dushore; by 10 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren.
Ernest was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy in 1972, and a sister Irene Rood.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday evening Feb. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, from 10 until the time of the funeral service.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m., in the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St., Dushore, Pa., with the Rev. Darcy Miller, pastor of the St. Paul's Church of Overton, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Warburton Hill Cemetery of Overton.

Two Bradford County young women were killed early Sunday morning in a one-car accident in Dushore. and a Dushore RD 2 young woman was injured seriously. Killed were Miss Martha L. Armstrong, 20 of Sugar Run RD 1,driver of the car and a passenger, Miss Nancy Diane Fassett, 17, of New Albany RD 2. Miss Joyce Ann Rohe, 23 of Dushore RD 2 is in serious condition in Robert Packer Hospital's intensive care unit with fractures of the right leg and left arm and lacerations of the face and scalp, hospital personnel reported Sunday night. Miss Fassett and Miss Rohe were thrown from the careening vehicle, police at the Dushore sub-station report. Miss Armstrong remained in the car throughout its wild ride. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Theodore Saul while Miss Fassett was pronounced dead on Arrival at packer Hospital. State police report that Miss Armstrong was traveling south on Carpenter St. in Dushore (also known as Rt. 87) at 1:55 Sunday morning when she failed to negotiate a left curve. Police said the car went off the west berm of the road, down a three-foot embankment and traveled over 103 feet before hitting a tree. The car they said then spun around and rolled over before continuing south 44 feet, down a five-foot bank across Rt. 472 still traveling an additional 76 feet before coming to rest back on Rt 87.

Miss Armstrong was born March 25, 1952 in Meshoppen, the daughter of Joseph and Betty Tuttle Armstrong. She graduated from Wyalusing High School in 1970 and was employed at the Sulcraft Manufacturing plant in Dushore. Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Donna and Betty Jo and one brother, John all at home; grandparents, Vivian Tuttle of Montrose and Lenora Armstrong of Whitney Point, N.Y. several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Tiffany Funeral Home in Wyalusing Wednesday at 2 p.m. under the management of Kenneth Kerr. The Rev. Theodore Stone offspring Hill will officiated. Burial will be in Wyalusing Cemetery.

Miss Fassett was born July 17, 1954 in Overton. She was a 1972 graduate of Wyalusing High School. Miss Fassett was the daughter of Ernest Jr. and Elsie Sherman Fassett. She is survived in addition to her parents by two brothers, Lee of Evergreen and Larry at home; three sisters, Mrs. John (Jean) Wheeler of Oceanside, Calif, Miss Laura Ann and Miss Debra Sue, both t home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sherman of Wysox and paternal grandfather, Ernest Fassett of RD 2 New Albany; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home in Dushore with the Rev. John J. Plant pastor of the New Albany Cooperative Parish, officiating. Interment will be in the Warburton Hill Cemetery.

Ralph J. Karge, 87, of Dushore died Oct. 13, 1997. He was born in Cherry Township, July 26, 1910, a son of Charles and Sarah Hunsinger Karge. Mr. Karge was an active man, owning and operating a dairy farm for the past 67 years; delivering mail between Dushore and Forksville from 1928 to 1933; a member and treasurer of the Eastern Milk Producers Co-op of Bradford and Sullivan Counties, and currently a member of Milk Marketing incorporated. In addition he hauled cattle to the livestock sale in Wyalusing for many years, and also to the Troy livestock sale; he hauled milk to the Dushore creamery when it was operating, then later to the Grover Creamery in Grover. At one time he attended Penn State. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel; a member of Colley Grange N. 365 for 54 years, serving in all the official offices at one time or another. He was president of the Peace Cemetery Association for 20 years and caretaker for the past 30 years.
Mr. Karge enjoyed his large family 11 children, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and often would take one of more of them when he made deliveries with his truck. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Gilbert of Forksville; Mrs. Raymond ) Linda) McDonald of Cherry Mills (Dushore RD) Nina Karge of Dushore, Lena Karge of Montgomery and Vera Karge of Dushore; five sons, Cleon of Dushore; Ronald of Nanticoke, Ivan of Mechanicsburg; Leo of Dushore; and Alvin of Clifton Springs, NY; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Mildred Richley of Dushore, 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, in 1991; an infant daughter, Anita; a son, Melvin; two sisters, Fluetta Reeser and Genevieve Lillian Karge and an infant grandson.
A private family funeral will be held today at the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, Dushore with Rev. Eddie A. Nilsen presiding. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Peace Cemetery Association. RR 2 Box 2389, Dushore, PA 18614.

Geraldine L. Karge, 78, of Cherry Twp. Dushore RD, died Thursday morning at the Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. Born April 30, 1912 in Sugar Hill, Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Pearl Brown Crawford. She spent most of her life in the Sullivan County area.
She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel of Dushore, and also the Dorcas of St. John's Chapel. She was a member of the Colley Grange, seventh degree 60 years, Grange No. 365. She held numerous offices, including chaplain and lector.
Mrs. Karge is survived by her husband, Ralph J. Karge, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Gilbert of Forksville, Vera Karge of Harrisburg, Mrs. Raymond (Linda) McDonald of Dushore, Nina Karge at home and Lena Karge of Montgomery, Pa; five sons, Alvin Karge of Clifton Springs, N.Y. Cleon Karge of Lopez, Ronald Karge of Nanticoke, Ivan Karge of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Leo Karge at home; one brother, Gerald Crawford of Colley; a sister, Mrs. Martin (Alta) Pekurny of Binghamton, 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and 2 nephews. One son, Melvin, and a daughter, Anita predeceased her.
Funeral and committal services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home 119 Carpenter St. Dushore, with the Rev. Richard A. Reeser Mrs. Karge's pastor officiating. Interment will be at a later time in the Peace Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McHenry's Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Chapel, Dushore in lieu of flowers.

Alvin G. Karge, 70, of Field Street, Clifton Springs, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. Friends called Sunday, March 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Patrick Funeral Home, 26 W. Main St., in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were held Monday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Port Gibson Cemetery. Friends may contribute in Alvin's memory to the Geneva Dialysis Unit, in care of Geneva General Hospital, or to Clifton Springs Boy Scout Troop 59. Alvin was born June 22, 1932, in Pennsylvania, the son of Ralph and Geraldine Crawford Karge, and had lived in the Clifton Springs area for more than 45 years. He retired from Garlock in Palmyra after 38 years of service. Alvin was active in the Clifton Springs Boy Scout Troop 59 for more than 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Anne; children, Wanda (Jay) Orlopp, Mike Karge, Steven (Jill) Karge, and Scott (Sharon) Karge, all of Clifton Springs, and Jason (Nicole) Karge of Newark; 10 grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters living in Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Everett L. Reeser, 84, of Athens RR 1 passed away Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at the Bradford County Manor.
He was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Colley the son of Clair and Lillian Dieffenbach Reeser. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sayre. He worked for the Tioga Feed Mill in Waverly, retiring from there after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his flower and vegetable garden.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ted Brown of Troy; his sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Carole Reeser of Palm Harbour, Fla, and Larry and Virginia Reeser of Greenfield, Ind; his grandchildren, Alisa Burlingame of Westfield, N.Y. and Tammy and Christine Reeser, both of Palm Harbour, Fla. And Erin Reeser of Greenfield, Ind; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Flutta, in 1994 and a granddaughter, Leslie Reeser in 1997.

Francis A. (Bud) Richley, 69, of Dushore RD 2, died January 21, 1985 at the Skilled Care Nursing Unit of the Memorial Hospital, Towanda. He was born July 1, 1915 in Scranton, the son of Jerome and Mary McMahon Richley. He spent most of his life in Sullivan County and worked over 25 years as a truck driver for M.J. Harrington Co. in Dushore. He also worked for Herman Rynveld's Son Co. He owned a farm in Cherry Township and was self-employed there until he retired in 1970. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a member of Loyalsock Post 996 American Legion at Dushore.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Karge Richley and a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene R. and Linda Richley of Chesapeake, VA; and daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Robert J. Litzelman of Luthers Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lane, Dushore, Mrs. Margaret Madden of Edison, NJ; Mrs. Joseph A. (Catherine) Ryan, Dushore; a brother, Joe Richley, Dushore and four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Julie and Jordan Richley and Pamela Litzelman.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hunsinger died of heart disease, Thursday, Feb. 8, at her home in Neath, Susquehanna County, at the age of 27 years. Mrs. Hunsinger was the daughter of Adam Dieffenbach of Cherry Township. She is survived by her husband, five small children, her father, two sisters, Mrs. Cora Setzer of Murray and Mrs. Rhodes of Powell, Bradford County, and three brothers, Newton, Arthur and Raymond of Mildred. The remains were brought to the home of her brother-in-law, Joseph Bird, at this place Friday evening. The funeral was held Monday morning at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. W.H. Fehr officiating. Interment in the Thrasher cemetery.

Mrs. William Hunsinger, 62, of West Danby, N.Y. died Thursday, Jan 6, a t the Tioga General Hospital Waverly. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Johnson Tuthill.
Surviving are her husband, three brothers, Goul Tuthill of Elmira, Leon and Arthur Tuthill of Waverly; two sisters, Elizabeth and Dorothy Tuthill of Waverly. Mrs. Hunsinger was a sister-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Karge of Cherry Township.

Merle Hunsinger of Cherry Township, died Tuesday, December 29th, the result of injuries he received while cutting props for Kline Richie, near Bernice. He had felled the tree, when it kicked back, striking him on the head with a limb. His skull was crushed. An ambulance was called but he died before he could be taken t the hospital. He was born March 27, 1910. Mr. Hunsinger is survived by his wife, Pearle Rinebold Hunsinger, and two children, two months and two years of age. Also his father, a brother and sister. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Holcombe funeral parlor on Main Street. Rev. H. Deisher will officiate. Burial in the Zion Lutheran cemetery.

Harold M. Hunsinger, 65, of Meshoppen died July 16, 199 at tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.
He was born July 11, 1934, in Sayre, a son of Pearl Rinebold Harney and the late Merle Hunsinger.
He was a farmer and worked on farms in Towanda, Meshoppen and Laceyville; and was also employed by the Meshoppen Township superviosers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris E. Swain of Meshoppen to whom he was married 45 years; his mother, of Dushore a duaghter Judy Jaynes of Meshoppen; two sons, Dale of Orth Rome; and Bruce of Laceyville; a steoson Ronald McCormick of Dallas; a brother, Donald Hunsinger of Dushore; half-brothers, Richard and Joseph Harney, both of Dusore; a half-sister, Mairie McKernan of Dushore; 12 grandchyildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeal servies were held July 20 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Meshoppen, with Rev. Dave Hinkley presiding. Burial was in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luther's Mills.

John F. Hunsinger, 82, of Milan RI (Bradford Co.) died January 14, 1977at the Robert Packer Hospital. He was born in Forks twp., July 12, 1894, the son of Levi and Maryann Sayman Hunsinger. Most of his life he was a lumberjack working over the years for many different lumber companies. He retired ten years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Agnes) Rhinehuls of Clearwater, FL, and Mrs. Roger (Marie) Chamberlain of Milan; and a son, Harold of Ulster RD.

Mrs. Mary E. Hunsinger, 74, of 406 First St., Athens, died Tuesday morning at 2:45 at her home after an extended illness. Born in Overton, the daughter of Charles and Dora Warburton McIntire, she had resided in the area for about 40 years and was a member of the Athens Presbyterian Church and of the Sally Sawtelle Class of the church.
Surviving are her husband John; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Rhinehuls of Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Marie Chamberlain of Milan; a son, Harold of Nichols; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Julia McIntire and Mrs. Grace McCarty, both of Forksville and Mrs. Nellie Shrimp of Bangor, Pa. and several nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main Street, Athens. The Rev. Frederick Price, pastor of the Athens Presbyterian Church, will officiate and burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.

Harold D. Hunsinger 59, of Hornbrook died Monday morning, December 25, at the Memorial Hospital in Towanda after an illness of one year. Mr. Hunsinger was born Oct. 18, 1919 in Dushore the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hunsinger. He spent his early years there where he attended school. After completing his schooling he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served during World War II in the Western Pacific, rising to the rank of sergeant.
Following the war, he worked with his father in the logging business. He was employed by State Aggregates until illness forced his retirement. Mr. Hunsinger was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed many trips to Canada to fish. He was a member of the Beirne Webster VFW Post, Bridge Street Hill.
Surviving are Luella Devine of Hornbrook; two sons, Michael Hunsinger of Wodsworth, Ohio, and John Hunsinger of Smithfield; one daughter Alice Hunsinger of Towanda; one sister, Mrs. Roger (Marie) Chamberlain of Florida; two grandchildren Chris and Michelle; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Archer-Miller-McCloskey Funeral Home, 23 Main St. Towanda. Interment will be in the Bradford County memorial Park, Luthers Mills.

The pallbearers were Francis Fitzgerald, Thomas Fitzgerald, Casel Northrop, and Robert Hoose.
Out of town persons attending the fuenral included: Mr. Fred Tyson of Osage City, Kan., maternal grandmother; Mrs. Vern Ragsdale of Denver, Col, and aunt; two great aunts, Mrs. Grace Barnes and Miss Julia McIntyre of Forksville, Pa.; and cousins, MR. and MRs. Bud Richlin of Dushore, Pa., and Teddy Bird of the U.S. Army Air Corps with his mother, MRs. Bird of Harrisburg; and Mr. and Mrs. John Barnhart of Nichols, N.Y.

Olin C. Salsman, 35, of 210 Wheelock Avenue, Athens, died early Wednesday morning at the Robert Packer hospital following a short illness from leukemia.
He was born in Laceyville and had lived in the Valley for the past 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 42nd Infantry Division in Austria and Germany. He was employed as a checker at the Ingersoll-Rand.
Surviving are his wife, Marie, and a daughter, Dorothy, Also his mother, Mrs. Annis Salsman of Athens and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Frisbie of Waverly, Mrs. Ruby Forman of Athens and Mrs. Carrie Barnhart of Ithaca, and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
The body was taken to the Lowery funeral home, 225 South Main Street, Athens, and will be removed to the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hunsinger, 406 First street, Athens, where friends may call after 12 o'clock today and where services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. Robert A. MacAskill of the Athens Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park at Luther's Mills.
