Charles E. Haus was born in 1829 (based on 1860 Federal Census Records) and died October 12, 1878.
According to writing on the front of his old ledger, he is buried off Allenwood Street, Cairo, Union Co., PA.
Cairo is a former name for Allenwood, Union Co., PA. Janice is currently unable to locate a gravestone.
Charles married Mariah "Maria" Harrington, b. June 1834 in Dushore, PA. She states in the 1900 census that her
father was born in CT and her mother in PA. and that she cannot read or write. Mariah also reports that she had 9 children
of which 6 are living in 1900. Charles and Mariah (Harrington) Haus lived in the village of Tivoli just south of Sullivan County in
Lycoming Co., PA. In 1860 and 1870, Charles is living with his family of origin. In 1880, Mariah appears in the record
along with her initial children. She is still living in Shrewsbury Twp. in 1900 with her son Thomas.

John Norris Haus is buried in Montoursville Cemetery.
He married Anna Sullivan, b. 1857 in Rock Run, PA and died in 1936 in Williamsport, PA, and rests in
Montoursville Cemetery as well.

Jennie Haus died in York, PA April 01, 1959 and is buried in the Muncy Cemetery. Chester was a Presbyterian
minister, and died November 15, 1953 in Spring Garden Twp., PA and rests in the Muncy Cemetery. Jennie
and Chester had three children:

Thomas Brady Haus married Dora M. Manuel on June 20, 1906; she was born October 1887 in Laporte, PA to John
and Della Manuel. Thomas died in 1944 and is buried in Montoursville Cemetery. Thomas and Dora had three
daughters:

Walter Haus married Dora May on June 27, 1910. Dora was the daughter of Frank and Carrie (Webster) May.
Walter worked as a car inspector on the Reading Railroad and Dora worked for Vanderlein Cleaners. They were
members of the Newberry Methodist Church. Walter died May 17, 1958; Dora died August 03, 1971, and they are
buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, PA. Walter and Dora had three daughters:

William Derr Haus married Helen Mary Webster on December 20, 1913; she was born on May 10, 1896 in Ekland

and Helen died December, 1987; they both rest in Montoursville Cemetery. William and Helen had three children:

Harry Wilbur Haus married Mae Webster on January 09, 1918; she was born 1894 in Estella, PA to Merton and
Rosa Anne (Brown) Webster. Mae died in 1947. Harry later married Bessie _______, b. October 06, 1918 and d.
September 12, 1997. Harry and Mae rest in Montoursville Cemetery.
Summary Note: Carrie Webster May and Merton Webster were children of, John Webster, of Elkland Twp.
Sullivan Co., PA. This means that Helen and Mae Webster and their cousin, Dora May,
married three sons of John Haus. Also, Helen and Mae Webster had a third sister, Fannie Webster, who married Ernest
Warner, the son of John Haus’ sister, Caroline Haus, who married Alfred Warner.
JEREMIAH HAUS rests in Hillcrest Cemetery, Sonestown, Sullivan Co., PA. He married SUSAN REBEKAH WILSON
on March 21, 1885; she was b. October 31, 1861 in Davidson Twp., PA and died in Kettle Creek, PA on June 09, 1914;
she rests with her husband in Sonestown. Their children were:

Frank Fletcher Haus married Edna Gower on December 26, 1912; she was born on June 28, 1896 the daughter of
Charles Gower and Laura (Wilson) Gower. This was the same Laura Wilson whose father John Wilson had a
niece named Susan Rebekah Wilson. Susan married Jeremiah Haus, the father of Edna's husband Frank
Fletcher Haus. So, Frank and his wife Edna were second cousins as well. The Wilson family is documented at
The Descendants of Isaac Wilson and Sarah Snyder. Frank and Edna moved from Masten, PA, now a ghost lumber town in Sullivan County,
around 1929 to Endwell, NY. Shortly after they bought a farm in Vestal, New York, which is still owned by their
son, Frank Fletcher Haus, Jr. and his children. Frank, Sr. died May 20, 1948 and Edna died July 13, 1966.

Archer Herman Haus married Annie Viola Avery on August 31, 1913. She was born on November 13, 1896 to George
Avery and Carolyn (Fiester) Avery. They moved from PA to Endicott, NY and later settled on a farm in Owego, NY
and this land is still owned by their children today. Archer died September 29, 1961 and Annie died June 20,
1986; they rest in Tioga Cemetery, Owego, NY. Archer and Annie’s children were:

Daisy and Roy lived in Endicott, NY, and rest in Riverhurst Cemetery there. Their children were:

in Lock Haven, PA. She was the daughter of Fredrick Bohart and Emma (Bryington) Bohart. Charles and Myrtle
are buried in the Ellenton Cemetery, Ellenton, PA. Their children were:

Miles Jeremiah Haus was married on June 15, 1920 to Madeline Elizabeth McDermott, b. January 30, 1900 and d.
February 29, 1988. They moved from the Sullivan/ Lycoming County area by 1932 and settled in Johnson City, NY.
Madeline McDermott was the daughter of Thomas McDermott and Margaret (Kelly) McDermott. The children of Miles and Madeline were:

August 31, 1967. They rest in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. Their daughter was:

Emma J. Haus, the sister of Jeremiah Haus, married James Long.
Emma and James had a daughter Edith Long. Edith Long married ________ Lusk. Edith had a
son that that went by Harry Long and lived in Akron, OH. This information is unconfirmed hearsay at the time of this write-up (May 2001).

Caroline Haus, a second sister of Jeremiah, married Alfred U. Warner on October 15, 1887. Alfred was born
near Iola, Columbia Co., PA on October 15, 1862. Caroline and Alfred lived in Davidson Twp., Sullivan County,
in 1910 and then appear in 1916 in Williamsport, PA. Caroline and Alfred Warner’s children were:
Ernest J. Warner, b. October 21, 1888
Owen Warner, b. June 24, 1896
In 1910, Caroline had borne two children and only one, Ernest, was still living, per the census. Owen had died.
Alfred Warner died November 16, 1955 and is buried in Salem Church Cemetery, Unityville, PA.
