Prepared by Carol Brotzman and Ernest Hatton, Jr.
April 2007

There is also a version of the history of the Lonser and Orlowski families available to those who can read German. These files are largely a compilation of information developed by Curt Brosch and Ernie Hatton in English on our site and on the Hatton-Exley Family Tree site on World Connect. In December 2007, we were contacted by Hans-Jurgen Wolf, an archivist in West Prussian family historical research. His primary web site is at Familienforschung in Westpreussen. His special interest is the southern part of the former Prussian of province West Prussia, in particular the region surround the Leistenau parish where the Lonsers originated. Hans-Jurgen has kindly given us permission to post his compilations in German on these two families here:

The Genealogy of August Lonser
A Family Chart for August Lonser
The Genealogy of Friederike (Orlowski) Lonser
A Family Chart for Friedericke (Orlowski) Lonser

Please contact Hans-Jurgen directly for questions relating to the information in his German files or on his web site. We are grateful for his contribution and assistance.

Hi Carol,

Was reviewing the email you sent me from February 3, 2005 which included "The Descendants of Joseph J. Richley" report.

Under 1. Joseph J. Richley you show he married Pauline Lonser, daughter of Herman Lonser and Ellen Huffmaster. And that she was b. October 2, 1919.

Under the notes for Pauline Lonser - from her obituary which apparently came from The Sullivan Review, dated August 19, 1993, it shows she was b. July 28, 1919, in Pittston, and was a daughter of Herman and Eleanor Huffmaster Lonser.

Not sure where you got the Oct 2 date from, but wanted you to be aware. As to the Ellen vs Eleanor - not much difference here and maybe "Ellen" was a nickname.

I appreciate you sending me this information.
